Featuring Scoot McNairy, Kit Harington, and Josh Lucas, Blood for Dust is a forthcoming action thriller that has just secured foreign distribution arrangements through Highland Film Group. Production on the film is scheduled to start in Montana this coming November. Cliff (McNairy), a down-on-his-luck salesperson on the road, is reunited with his old friend Ricky (Harington), a thriving illicit weapons dealer, in Blood for Dust. Eventually, Cliff agrees to work with Ricky, who is preparing to transport cocaine over state borders for a powerful American drug gang boss.
Things go horribly wrong, though, when Ricky becomes homicidal, and Cliff has to battle for his life. It seems like a crime drama and a survival thriller rolled into one, which may make for an exciting slaughter. In the United Kingdom, the film will be released by 101 Films Distribution; in France, by Originals Factory; in Latin America, by California Filmes; in Germany, by Splendid Film GmbH; in Eastern Europe, by Daro Film Distribution; in South Africa by Filmfinity; in Greece by Spentzos Film; in Italy by Blue Swan Entertainment; and in the Middle East by Eagle Films.
Rod Blackhurst is set to helm the picture with a story by David Ebeltoft. CEO Arianne Fraser and COO Delphine Perrier both commented on the upcoming film, with Fraser saying, “We are delighted to have our wonderful international partners come on board & champion this riveting, action-packed thriller with a fantastic ensemble cast led by Scoot, Kit and Josh.” Perrier added, “We look forward to bringing this gripping tale of greed and ambition to audiences worldwide and can’t wait to roll cameras this fall.” In the role of producers, Noah Lang, Mark Fasano, and Bernard Kira are working on Blood for Dust.
It was co-produced by Ford Corbett and David Ebeltoft, the film’s executive producers. There is currently no official set release date for Blood for Dust. In need of quick money, Cliff decides to go into business with the aggressive Ricky, who is planning to extend his operations to include cross-state drug and gun deliveries for John, a mid-level American cartel head. He reluctantly agrees to modify his rusty station wagon so that it can transport dozens of kg of cocaine.
