Fans have gone wild about Star Wars: Andor, and with good reason. It’s one of the series’ strongest entries. The fantastic soundtrack by Nicholas Britell is a big reason why we like travelling with Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor. Fans have been waiting for this to arrive since listening to Britell’s soundtrack to the show has been such a treat. Fans can get the music from the first four episodes of the blockbuster Disney+ series on Andor: Volume 1 (Episodes 1-4) (Original Score), with a second volume, titled Andor: Volume 2 (Original Score), coming on November 4 and a third volume, titled Andor: Volume 3 (Original Score), coming on December 2.
According to what Britell had to say about the announcement: A great debt of gratitude is owed to Tony Gilroy and Lucasfilm for the chance to score “Andor.” The experience of collaborating with Tony on this gigantic series has been awe-inspiring. As a lifelong admirer of the Star Wars world, I can say that it has been exhilarating and even emotional to feel like I’ve finally found my place inside it. I want to compose music that fits the tale and sounds like it might have been there all along. Tony and I discussed every detail, from composing the in-show score to thinking about how the show’s recurring musical motif could be interpreted differently in each episode. I’m thrilled to finally provide the first collection of “Andororiginal “‘s score, which features the scores of episodes one through four. To be continued…
Tony Gilroy, who composed the music, had nothing but appreciation for it. “Lucky me. In order to give my programme a more professional sound, I enlisted Nicholas Britell to compose the music. And the greatest part? Since Nick is a neighbour and we required seven hours of music, I’ve been riding my bike to the studio for the past two years while secretly replenishing my spirit. If I express how much fun we had doing it, does it take away from what we accomplished? How much the vastness of it made us feel small? In what ways did we grow? Well, I really hope not, because else we’ll have to start over next year.”
