The second season of ‘The Sex Lives of College Girls’, Release Date, Cast & Synopsis

The Sex Lives of College Girls Season 2 has an official trailer, and HBO Max has just dropped it. Kimberly, Whitney, Leighton, and Bela are back for another “striptacular” season of frat parties, male strip shows, and lots of hookups, as hinted at in the teaser. The sorority gala “Winter Underland” is happening right before the girls get back from Thanksgiving break. Bela, ever the overachiever, suggests bringing a male strip show to the campus as a “sex-positive, female-forward,” event that is “also a fundraiser for climate change,” and we are also introduced to a new and mystery handsome neighbour in the dorm, who has all of the housemates drooling.

The trailer strikes a good mix between the comedic lightness and the more serious parts of college life, such as Kimberly’s struggle to make a tuition payment, Whitney’s negotiating of a new and potentially challenging relationship, and Leighton’s examination of her own sexuality. The show is a comedy that represents Gen Z society humorously, but it has also shown that it can handle serious subjects quite effectively. While Leighton had difficulty coming to terms with who she was, Kimberly was found cheating and nearly expelled from school.

Both Bela and Whitney had to deal with sexual misconduct, with Bela’s perpetrator being the Co-Editor of the comedy magazine she had joined. Pauline Chalamet, Amrit Kaur, ReneĆ© Rapp, and Alyah Chanelle Scott feature in the upcoming film The Sex Lives of College Girls. Mekhi Leeper, Christopher Meyer, Lolo Spencer, Ilia Isorelys Paulino, Mitchell Slaggert, and Fenika Williams are just some of the new series regulars joining the cast for Season 2. Besides Kaling and Noble, Howard Klein also serves as an executive producer on the show she co-created with Justin Noble.

The first season’s Nico Murray, played by Gavin Leatherwood, will not be returning for the second. Leatherwood made the announcement in March, at the same time that HBO Max renewed the show for another season. He was “glad to do the first season,” but will be “branching out and heading in a different way,” he stated. Episodes 2 and 3 of Season 2 of The Sex Lives of College Girls will premiere on HBO Max on November 17 and continue to air weekly until the season finale on December 15.
