The November 15 episode will see Missy Peregrym’s return from maternity leave as she plays a key role in the FBI. Peregrym and her husband, Tom Oakley, had their second child in June, and she has since been on maternity leave. Following the conclusion of her maternity leave in September, she revealed on Instagram that she will be returning to her role as Special Agent Maggie Bell.
Missy’s real-life break was accommodated by the show’s producers by having Maggie go on medical leave following an injury she sustained in a sarin gas assault during the previous season. The FBI’s official Instagram account also posted a video of them greeting Peregrym on set. According to the official description for the episode airing on November 15, Maggie will be back in time to help with two murder investigations, one involving a law student headed to Marine Corps Base Quantico and the other involving a young guy with probable gang links.
Maggie, however, makes a blunder and discloses a bit too much, leading her colleagues to question whether or not they should put their trust in her again. The official episode summary goes as follows: Maggie’s return from medical leave in “Ready or Not” allows her to assist the team in their investigation into the murders of a law student destined for Quantico and a young guy with probable gang links.
On the CBS Original Series FBI, airing tonight (Nov. 15) at 8:00 p.m. et/pt on the CBS Television Network and streaming live and on-demand on Paramount+, Maggie accidentally reveals something to OA that leads him to fear that his partner is getting back into the job too soon. The episode is said to serve as a transitional episode for Peregrym as she returns to her role as Maggie. Maggie has a lot of news about what has happened to her coworkers and, in particular, her work partner OA since last season.
Agent Nina Chase, OA’s temporary partner while Maggie is away, was played by Shantel VanSanten, who filled in for Peregrym. VanSanten is not mentioned as a cast member for the episode, therefore it is unclear if she will continue to feature on the show.
