According to a report by Variety, Natalie Morales has been added to the growing ensemble of Apple TV+’s The Morning Show. Morales will play Kate Danton, a Stanford alum and best friend of Stella (Greta Lee). Jon Hamm, who was cast in the role of Paul Marks in August, will play Marks. Both characters participated in an incubation programme sponsored by Marks. Starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, the show follows the competition between an established newscaster and a young upstart in the competitive American morning television market.
Another topic it touched on was sexual harassment in the workplace, with the show’s main anchor getting fired for his inappropriate behaviour. Awards groups praised the series, and Aniston took home a statue from the Screen Actors Guild for her work on the show.
After Alex (Aniston) and Bradley (Witherspoon) revealed the terrible work environment of the UBA Network live on TV, season 2 of the programme was a broad look into the aftermath of the damage they left behind. The episode then shifted gears to the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic while Mitch Kessler (Steve Carell), still on the run from the #MeToo backlash, hid out in Europe. In addition to Abby and White Collar, Morales is well-known for his roles in the Netflix originals Dead to Me and Santa Clarita Diet.
Her future co-star on The Morning Show, Mark Duplass, was also in the 2021 film she co-wrote, directed, and acted in, Language Lessons. Season 3’s cast also features returning cast members Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Jason Lee, Mark Duplass, Billy Crudup, Nestor Carbonell, Karen Pittman, Bel Powley, Desean Terry, Tom Irwin, Marcia Gay Harden, Ruairi O’Connor, Hasan Minhaj, Holland Taylor, Tara Karsian, and Valerie Golino. Hamm, Nicole Beharie, Tig Notaro, and Stephen Fry have all been cast in new episodes. Season 2 guest star Julianna Margulies is back for more. It was announced in January that a third season of The Morning Show will be produced.
In place of Kerry Ehrin, the programme will welcome Charlotte Stoudt, best known for her roles on Homeland and House of Cards, as the new showrunner for the upcoming season. During its first two seasons, which Ehrin created, he also served as a showrunner. She will maintain her role as a consultant for the programme.
