Production on Liam Neeson’s Thug has begun in Boston, and now two-time Emmy winner Ron Perlman (Hellboy) has joined the cast in an unidentified role, according to a report from Deadline. While the specifics of Perlman’s role are being kept under wraps, the film will purportedly follow an elderly Boston mobster (played by Neeson) as he strives to break free of the influence of the criminal underworld in order to mend fences with his family and make up for his crimes. In addition to the revelation that Perlman would feature in the film, it was also revealed that Yolonda Ross (The Chi) and Daniel Diemer (The Midnight Club) have been cast.
Thug is quickly becoming one of the most anticipated upcoming films in its genre because of its impressive ensemble cast and intriguing storyline, all of which suggest that viewers may expect a thrilling thriller.
