Deadline reports that Simu Liu has been recruited to appear in a TV version of Ben Mezrich’s action-adventure novel Seven Wonders. Production on the series for Prime Video has begun. Dr Nate Grady (Liu), a botanist and explorer, and Sloane Seydoux (Liu), an international fixer, go on a risky quest to uncover the truth behind a mystery that has a direct connection to the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World in this new series from Netflix.
With a promising premise that calls to mind Indiana Jones’s swashbuckling exploits, Seven Wonders has the potential to be a fun and thrilling series for viewers when it arrives on Prime Video in the future. Additional details regarding the series, such as casting, will presumably be announced once production begins ramping up. Director Justin Lin (F9) is at the helm of Seven Wonders, while Adam Cozad (The Legend of Tarzan, Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit) is on board to create the script. Liu not only stars in Seven Wonders, but she also works as an executive producer on the show.
Aside from Lin and Cozad, the show’s executive producers are Beau Flynn of the Flynn Picture Company, Lin, Salvador Gatdula, and Andrew Schneider under the banner Perfect Storm. Previous to this, Liu played the title role in the critically and commercially successful MCU film Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. The actor will return in a sequel that is now in production. Liu will also act with Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in the next Barbie film directed by Greta Gerwig (Lady Bird), which is set to be released simultaneously with Seven Wonders.
He will also co-star alongside Mark Wahlberg in the upcoming adventure picture Arthur the King, directed by Simon Cellan Jones, and with Phillipa Soo in Andy Fickman’s upcoming love drama One True Loves. In a break from his former heroic performances, Liu is scheduled to take on a villainous persona in Atlas with Jennifer Lopez. Seven Wonders is building up to be an exciting experience now that the great actor is at the centre of the new adventure series. Due to the early production stage of the series, there is currently no scheduled release date for Seven Wonders.
