Tulsa King, a criminal drama starring Sylvester Stallone, has officially entered its countdown. Paramount has published a brand new teaser and poster for the forthcoming series, and they’re just as risky as the main actor. The new video shows New York mafia boss Dwight “The General” Manfredi, who kept quiet for 25 years and served time in prison, not getting the greeting he was anticipating from his bosses. Instead, he has been sent to Tulsa, Oklahoma. After arriving in Tulsa and finding his mob family may not have his best interests at heart, he gathers a motley “crew” of quirky personalities to construct his own empire, a process that takes numerous comedic twists and turns.
Dwight is also shown trying to court a woman in his peculiar mafia style, which provides enough opportunity for comic missteps. The trailer paints a picture of a dramatic mafia narrative with some lighthearted moments. The movie’s poster features a suave Stallone in a grey suit, lighting his cigar with a burned boarding pass and preparing to get retribution on his gangster family. Developed by Yellowstone’s Taylor Sheridan and The Sopranos’ executive producer Terence Winter, the series features Stallone’s first starring appearance on television. Sheridan is recognised for his highly praised tales of crime in tiny towns, and Stallone’s career-best, Rocky, which was filmed in Philadelphia, won the Academy Award for Best Picture in 1977.
Their combined efforts resulted in the trailer’s clever plot and entertaining characters. Sheridan’s roster on Paramount+, which already includes dramas like 1883 and the Mayor of Kingstown, will expand with the addition of this new series. Besides Andrea Savage, Martin Starr, Jay Will, Max Casella, Domenick Lombardozzi, Vincent Piazza, A.C. Peterson, Garrett Hedlund, and Dana Delany also feature in the show. Sheridan, Winter, Stallone, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Allen Coulter, and Braden Aftergood serve as the show’s executive producers.
On November 13, Paramount+ will air the first two episodes of Tulsa King after the Season 5 premiere of Yellowstone. Later, fresh episodes will become available every Sunday.
