Fans of Netflix’s fantasy series Warrior Nun waited two years since the season premiere’s cliffhanger ending to get a glimpse of the forthcoming season, which premiered during Geek Week in early June. The streaming service has now released a batch of brand new, exclusive pictures from the upcoming second season, which showcase a variety of settings and circumstances, such as series star Alba Baptista’s character, Ava, decked up in chainmail and ready for a fight. Netflix’s official Twitter feed included the updated photos. The tenth and last episode of the 1st season saw our heroes engage in combat against the army controlled by Adriel (William Miller), with the war appearing lost.
This, along with the trailer published a few months ago, has gotten fans interested. Despite the show’s impending comeback this winter, viewers still have doubts after these teasers. Originally published in 1994, Ben Dunn’s Warrior Nun Areala comic served as inspiration for Warrior Nun. Ava Silva, a woman who dies at the beginning of the series but is brought back to life with the help of a magical and holy relic implanted in her back, is the protagonist. She joins the ancient Order of the Cruciform Sword, a group of female warriors sworn to fight demons and empowered by the linked Halo of the Angel Adriel.
After the shocking revelation about Adriel in the first season, viewers are eager to see how Ava will use her growing leadership abilities. Simon Barry developed the series, which premiered on Netflix on July 2, 2020. Toya Turner, Thekla Reuten, Lorena Andrea, Kristina Tonteri-Young, Tristán Ulloa, and Olivia Delcán join Baptista on the cast in leading roles in the series. Meena Rayann, Jack Mullarkey, and Richard Clothier were also revealed to have recurring roles in Season 2. While no official date has been set, Season 2 of Warrior Nun will debut on Netflix sometime this winter.
