Spoilers for the next chapter 341 of Black Clover were made available to readers late on Wednesday night, providing them with a wealth of fresh material and characters to pore over. However, the chapter’s focus is on disturbing information about Yami Sukehiro, revealed by his sister Ichika: he apparently slaughtered his whole clan/family. Chapter 341 of Black Clover is packed with interesting new details and plot twists, but this one will likely stand out the most to many readers. There is widespread revulsion at the idea that Yami could murder his clan/family, given how much he has shown them affection over the years.
The revelation of Yami in Chapter 341 of Black Clover has the potential to spark a long-brewing rivalry between Master and Student.
Spoilers for Black Clover chapter 341 emphasise the introduction of three new members to the Ryuzen Seven, all of whom are assigned to train Asta. To have a “regular discussion” with Asta, where she treats him as an equal rather than talking down to him, Ichika must first confess that he is 24 years old. She says that the current political climate in Hino Country is unstable, but that Ryuya’s right eye is helping to keep things in order because it can see everything that is happening right now. It’s clear that Ichika is a huge fanboy of Ryuya because she refers to his right eye as his “Clairvoyance.”
She delivers a mini-lecture to Asta in which she argues that Ryuya’s Clairvoyance, intelligence, and popularity allowed him to unify the restive Hino Country despite his lack of Yoryoku. When Ichika tells Asta that she owes a lot to him because of Ryuya, he responds by adding that he owes a lot to Yami. In the concluding moments of Black Clover chapter 341, Ichika accuses Yami of murdering their whole clan/family, at which point she declares that Yami is the lowest and that she doesn’t want to hear of him. The last panels of Black Clover chapter 341 stress an upcoming hiatus for the story, so readers won’t see any more development of Ichika’s allegation for a while.
Therefore, supporters are left wondering not only if Ichika’s charge is accurate, but also what effects it may have. Ichika might be wrong, blaming Yami for the deaths of his family and tribe only because he vanished without a trace. With such a twist, Ichika would have a compelling cause to return with Asta to the continent of the Clover Kingdom in order to finally reconcile Asta and her brother before the series’ conclusion. However, if Ichika is right, then viewers will have to reflect on Yami’s participation in the series thus far. His previous portrayal as the courageous leader of the Black Bulls who genuinely cares about his troops stands in stark contrast to this new information. Yuki Tabata, the series creator and illustrator, might resolve this discrepancy by introducing the concept of Yami sacrificing himself for the better benefit of the Hino Country.
However, many people will compare this plot to Naruto’s Itachi Uchiha, and that might lead to criticism of Tabata’s writing style. The clan may have turned on Yami instead of the other way around, making it seem less identical. Ichika and Yami look to be extremely powerful, which may have caused panic across their clan/family upon their births. Because of this, Yami, the eldest brother, decided to slaughter his tribe and family in order to protect his younger sister and himself. Then, he could have done as Itachi and Sasuke did and left Ichika alive, running away to give her a chance at life. Fans would certainly be able to tolerate such a peripheral connection, with the primary narrative element inverted, even if it is still hauntingly similar to Itachi and Sasuke’s journey and friendship. Spoilers for Black Clover chapter 341 cast doubt on whether or not Yami actually killed his clan/family, therefore all of this is just conjecture at this point. Fans have at least two weeks until they get any more information about this plot element, so for now, all they can do is speculate.
