Next Exit, an existential thriller set in the not-too-distant future in which a scientist has proven the existence of an afterlife, prompting people to want to start over in this different realm, in hopes of finding absolution and reuniting with their loved ones, has just been released a new official trailer. In addition to the new teaser, we also have the film’s official release date and a magnificent new poster to unveil. Next Exit has premiered at several film festivals and will be released in cinemas and on-demand on November 4th. Karen Gillan explains the groundbreaking discovery that sends Rahul Kohli and Katie Parker on a cross-country trek to their deaths in the new teaser.
They set out on an unplanned road trip with the goal of reaching that location, and along the way, they experience life, misadventure, and self-discovery. In order to give viewers an idea of what to anticipate from the film, the trailer combines the eerie, dark atmosphere of the film with lighter moments of humour. Mali Elfman, the film’s writer and director, makes her debut with Next Exit.
The movie received an early showing at this year’s Fantasia Fest and was virtually uniformly lauded by critics who’ve seen it thus far. As of right now, the movie has a 96% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Besides Parker, Kohlim, and Gillan, the cast also includes Rose McIver, Tongayi Chirisa, Tim Griffin, Diva Zappa, and Nico Evers-Swindell.
Maggie Lovitt gave Elfman’s directorial debut, Next Exit, rave reviews in her article for The New York Times, calling it “clever” and “energetic.”
Next Exit opens in cinemas and on-demand on November 4, 2022.
