Ema Horvath recently gained recognition for her performance in The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and she will now expand her résumé by joining the cast of the forthcoming Lionsgate version of the horror movie The Strangers. Horvath will make an appearance in the movie, which has yet to be given a title and started the main filming in Slovakia in September, according to Deadline. There haven’t been many specifics revealed regarding Horvath’s role, but she will participate in the movie with the previously revealed Madelaine Petsch and Froy Gutierrez. Also, cast in a supporting role is Gabriel Basso. According to a movie, logline Deadline was able to get “To start a new life in the Pacific Northwest, follow Petsch’s character as she travels cross-country with her longtime boyfriend (Gutierrez).
They are forced to spend the night in a remote Airbnb after their car breaks down in Venus, Oregon, where they are terrified by three masked intruders from twilight till daylight.”
The movie, which will act as a soft reproduction of the series, will be The Strangers’ third official outing overall. Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman appeared in the original Universal Pictures movie from 2008, which followed the couple as they fought against a terrifying house invasion. In 2018, The Strangers: Prey at Night, the sequel, was published.
The series has gained cult status among horror aficionados, and after the third instalment, there will be two more sequels, with work on each of them apparently beginning soon.
Renny Harlin, famed for horror and action movies like Deep Blue Sea and Die Hard 2, is helming the adaptation. Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland collaborated on the movie’s script. A distinguished group of producers, including Charlie Dombeck (The War With Grandpa), Gary Raskin (Midway), Courtney Solomon (Cake), Mark Canton (300), and Alastair Birlingham, are also prominently involved in the project (Moonfall).
Andrei Boncea, Dorothy Canton, and Roy Lee serve as executive producers, while the Slovakian production company Frame Film SK collaborates on the project with Rafaella Biscayn, Johanna Harlin, Juan Garcia Peredo, and Alberto Burgueno. Since the actress was born to Slovakian parents, the production represents a return to her origins for Horvath. Although she is most known for her supporting role as Eären in the wildly popular fantasy series The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power on Amazon Prime Video, she made her acting debut in the 2017 horror movie Like.
