Best HR Software for Small Business

In 2022, Gusto will be the only human resources software needed for a startup or small business. It’s affordable enough that even the most up-and-coming companies can afford it, and it’s a huge hit with staff. All the more so for those that don’t have an HR department, in my opinion. A person with little to no background in human resources will be able to efficiently manage Gusto. According to the feedback we received, the rollout was smooth and short. As far as information technology (IT) infrastructure goes, all you need is access to the internet.

The platform has undergone constant development and enhancement with the addition of new features while maintaining an exceptionally user-friendly interface. While it may not be sufficient for the demands of more established companies, it is more than adequate for a new venture or a small company. In a nutshell, Gusto can take care of the following human resources tasks:

  • Databank of Personnel
  • Employee Paid Time Off Benefits Processing
  • Onboarding
  • Controlling vacation time
  • Dates and timestamps

The Gusto platform handles everything from timekeeping to vacation requests to address changes, eliminating the need for separate tools or logins. It’s true that most administrators are only rubber-stamping alterations that have been made by staff members themselves. With Gusto, you don’t have to worry about collecting tax and verification documents from new hires since the system does it for you. Gusto already has the ability for employees to electronically sign offer letters, so there’s no need for them to download a separate app.

In other words, Gusto doesn’t scare anyone away. According to our users, staff can handle nearly all tasks alone. Whether they log in from a desktop computer or a mobile device, employees will find a very user-friendly layout and a wealth of information at their fingertips. “I truly had actually no complaints about it,” the CEO of a small marketing firm (with only nine employees) commented. According to the feedback he got, the previous method was “not as straightforward to use” and “a little bit more complex.” As for Gusto’s employee site, he said, “It’s been a lot better than imagined.”

Gusto is warm and friendly, almost to the point of cheesiness. There’s a computerised high-five generator and a dancing piggy bank to reward you when you reach milestones like yearly enrolment. While it’s true that HR duties are often overlooked, just ask any worker who failed to sign up for benefits during the open enrollment period, and you’ll see the indisputable value of a user-friendly HR platform like Gusto. A restaurant owner informed us that his staff can figure out their own issues thanks to the intuitive interface.

You don’t have to transmit the flag up the chain to gain any info, he assured me. As one manager put it, “That will save a lot of unneeded time that managers generally have to deal with week after week.” Moreover, the quest goes beyond merely seeking savings. Since using Gusto, the restaurant owner has witnessed a decline in staff attrition. They really appreciate how fast issues are addressed and remedied, he added. Few mistakes are made, either. Despite the political context, it creates a “very continuous, stable atmosphere.”

Equally impressive at the rear is the front end. Starting a business doesn’t need any prior knowledge or training in human resources. Rather than leaving you to figure out the details on your own, Gusto provides a step-by-step guide and even sends you the occasional reminder. “I really have someone beginning today,” the restaurant owner told us. “And sure enough, [Gusto] was like, ‘Hey, remember when she gets there, let’s go ahead and finish the I9 and that way you don’t have to worry about it anymore,’ and that was without even setting a reminder or anything.”

He said that he would not have done so until his accountant harried him about it at the eleventh hour if he hadn’t had the help of Gusto. To ensure that his new employee could get her first salary, he would have had to phone her at an unspecified time. In other words, you want to make sure you don’t give the wrong impression right off the bat. The process of being reimbursed is simple. You have the option of reimbursing employees on a regular schedule, adjusting many reimbursements at once, or compensating an employee who used their own money to cover a personal expense. As the company’s creator put it, “they can submit the receipt, and bam, we refund them—nice and easy.”

As a result of its time monitoring features, Gusto was favoured by many. The ability to clock in and out from the app itself is a significant upgrade over the previous desktop-only option. The technique only takes “maybe two to three minutes for someone who has never seen it before,” a manager who has used it told us. She like how simple it was to alter the time spent and how revisions could be followed.
