Eleven more actors have been added to the cast of the new action-comedy series Obliterated on Netflix, which is now in production by the producers of Cobra Kai. Carl Lumbly, who played Isaiah Bradley in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, will make recurrent cameo appearances as CIA Director Langdon, the superior and guide of Ava (Shelley Hennig) (Unfriended). David Costabile (Billions) joins the cast as Maddox, a black market operator and the heroes’ counsellor. Maddox will also appear with Lumbly. The armaments dealer Ivan Koslov, played by Homeland’s Costa Ronin, is a master manipulator who always seems to be one step ahead of the squad because of his charisma and shrewdness.
Minnie Mills (The Summer I Turned Pretty) portrays Jen, the daughter of Paul (Eugene Kim) who unwittingly finds herself in the centre of one of his missions, while Lindsey Kraft (Grace and Frankie) will also star in the series as Yani, a great lounge singer with a heart of gold. Tobias Jelinek, known for his role on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., will portray the role of Ehren, a deadly “one-man Swiss Army Knife.” Virginia Madsen (Sideways) will play Marge, while Lori Petty (Orange is the New Black) will play Crazy Susan in the new series. Avatar: The Way of Water star Keston John (Mr Dugan) will be portrayed by Clive Standen (Taken) and Ivan G’vera (The Defeated) will play Vlad. Hennig and Nick Zano, among others, have already been cast in the project (The Final Destination).
Alyson Gorske (Jungle Run), Terrence Terrell (Batwoman), Kimi Rutledge (Half Sisters), C. Thomas Howell, and Paola Lázaro (Juanita Sanchez) all feature in the show (The Outsiders). The show’s founders, Jon Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Heald, will also be its writers. They worked together on the first Cobra Kai series. Together with Counterbalance Entertainment’s Dina Hillier, they serve as executive producers. There is currently no official confirmed premiere date for Obliterated as the show is still under development.
Synopsis
In Obliterated, an elite special forces unit prevents a lethal danger to Las Vegas in a high-octane action comedy. Following a night of heavy drinking, drug use, and sexual activity, the squad learns that the device they disarmed was bogus. The squad, now impaired by alcohol, must work together to overcome their differences, locate the genuine bomb, and prevent global destruction.
