Since our last visit to Hino City, when it was immediately apparent that Ichika would be the one to prepare Asta for his struggle against Lucius, several chapters have passed. The training sessions between Asta and Ichika have begun, and the spoilers for chapter 340 of Black Clover have been released early. There’s a lot to look forward to in the next episode, as Ichika and Asta use their strengths strategically as Ryuuya and Fumito watch in awe. Asta’s increased knowledge of Zetten will give him an advantage while fighting against opponents with Anti-Magic.
Spoilers for Chapter 340 of Black Clover
At the beginning of the chapter, Asta will use Zetten on many bamboos again, this time impressing Ryuuya while Fumito looks surprised. As a result of Ryuuya’s request for a friendly match, Asta has joined forces with Leibe to establish the Devil Union. Fumito is once again taken aback by the sight of such might. In order to determine whether or not he is serious about the challenge, Ichika warns him that he will perish if he is not prepared to give his all. He continues to stare at Ichika with increasing intensity until the latter finally punches him, sending him flying into the woods. Asta struggles to defend herself from her repeated assaults from her opponent.
However, she outclasses him in strength and speed. During the battle, she spawns several versions of herself due to her lightning-fast reflexes. Ichika relentlessly assaults Asta, eventually knocking him back into the bushes with a strong kick. To maximise her power, she follows the guideline of exploiting each available opportunity. She fills him in on Zetten, explaining that the method was developed by a mythical man who, utilising this ability, tore the sky in two. As Ryuuya notes, Asta is quite good at avoiding harm while he’s focused, but he loses concentration sometimes, and both Ichika and Lucius are aware of this and take advantage of it when fighting Asta.
The encounter ends with Asta on the losing end, but he remains on his feet, curious yet hesitant to learn more about his resiliency. After that, she gives Asta a solid chop to the skull, sending him crashing to the floor. At the chapter’s close, Ryuuya inquires as to how many individuals in the Hino Country are able to endure a heavy attack from Ichika and remain awake and is told that only a select handful are present.
