A new teaser & poster have been released for I’m Totally Fine, an upcoming science fiction comedy film produced by Workaholics co-creator Kyle Newacheck. Jillian Bell, a former member of the comedy group Workaholics, plays a grieving lady who meets a clone of her deceased best friend who insists she is from another planet. Other than Bell, Natalie Morales, Blake Anderson, Harvey GuillĂ©n, and Newacheck also star in I’m Totally Fine. The new trailer highlights the film’s dark humour by opening with Bell’s Vanessa addressing a party planner about the death of her closest friend and business partner Jennifer (Morales).
Vanessa goes on a solo trip to deal with her grief and discovers Jennifer in the hotel room, apparently still alive and chugging olive oil. Vanessa is then treated to a bizarre PowerPoint presentation by “Jennifer,” in which she explains that she is actually an “extraterrestrial” posing as Jennifer. While Vanessa isn’t entirely convinced that the extraterrestrial lookalike of her late best friend is genuine, she welcomes him into her home and makes a concerted effort to improve her life, despite her initial apprehension. The trailer for I’m Totally Fine shows that the film will be a funny and touching look at loss and friendship. The movie’s official poster, entitled “I’m Totally Fine,” is just as out there as the plot summary. Poster art features the film’s two leads relaxing in a tub together.
The tub seems to be hovering in midair, and a beam of light from an extraterrestrial spaceship can be seen above it. The slogan “Friendship Takes Many Forms” appears on the poster. Brandon Dermer, working with a scenario by Alisha Ketry, directs his first feature film, I’m Totally Fine. Ketry is well-known for her work on American Dad! and Fuller House. In addition to Newacheck, Jonas Dolkart is also a producer for the show. There is no rating information available for this 123-minute-long film. On November 4, I’m Totally Fine will be released in cinemas, on demand, and digitally.
