Netflix has released a teaser for the season of Unsolved Mysteries, so fans of the genre are encouraged to get together and watch it. That’s right, the frightening production is back after what felt like a five-year sabbatical to bring you more stories of unsolved crimes and incidents that will shake you to your very core. New strange stories, including murders, disappearances, extraterrestrial encounters, and hauntings, were teased in a video released by Netflix today. The teaser begins with the same spooky piano entrance from the original Raymond Burr presented series, and then jumps right into the mysteries that viewers will discover throughout the course of the season’s nine episodes.
As we hear from those whose loved ones vanished under mysterious circumstances, it’s evident that missing persons will be the show’s main emphasis. Fortunately, widespread publicity about missing people is a powerful method for locating them. Regarding the supernatural, we see a little girl waving to nothing, which, in our opinion, is the scariest kind of haunting because it can only be witnessed by children. We got a glimpse of a creature with “fiery orange eyes” and a footprint measuring 21 inches, giving us optimism that Bigfoot may play a role this season. Unsolved Mysteries Volume 3 will be released in a staggered fashion over the course of three weeks, with an average of three episodes appearing each week.
This is a change from previous seasons, which were released simultaneously, allowing for optimal binge viewing. Though we’d want to stay up all night and wake up the next day having decided to become armchair detectives after binge-watching all the episodes on Netflix, it’s probably for the best that the episodes will be spaced out. In recent years, Netflix has become the go-to streaming service for viewers interested in learning about the most outlandish and unbelievable true crime and mystery stories.
You should check out the new Unsolved Mysteries series if you like Ryan Murphy’s award-winning and unsettling Monster: The Jeffrey Dahmer Story or Skye Borgman’s I Just Killed My Dad (or any of Borgman’s great films). Even better, you can watch all of the seasons one and two in one sitting on Netflix if you haven’t before. On October 18, Netflix will begin airing the first three episodes of the second season of Unsolved Mysteries.
