Fans of DC Comics will recognise Harvey Dent (Misha Collins) from The CW’s Gotham Knights, but this time he’s presented in a fresh light. Collins revealed his portrayal of Dent in a recent tweet (retweeted by the show’s co-creator, Natalie Abrams). Collins, disguised as Harvey Dent, may be seen in the background of this photo taken inside the Gotham City Police Headquarters. Dent may be seen pointing at the GCPD’s insignia on the wall in this snap. It is Harvey who breaks the news to Oscar Morgan’s character, Turner Hayes, that Bruce Wayne’s father was slain in the series.
In addition, he is the one who tells Turner that his dad was Batman, too. Harvey Dent will also be involved in the show’s investigation into Batman/Bruce Wayne’s death. Both Harvey Dent and his villainous persona, Two-Face, have been brought to the big screen several times. Tim Burton’s 1989 Batman picture starred Billy Dee Williams as Harvey, who collaborates with Commissioner Gordon (Pat Hingle) and Mayor Borg (Lee Wallace) to stop Carl Grissom (Jack Palance) and subsequently The Joker (Jack Nicholson). In Joel Schumacher’s Batman Forever (1995), Tommy Lee Jones replaced Adam West. Dent, having been Two-Face for two years, eventually joins forces with The Riddler in the film (Jim Carrey).
The Dark Knight, a film directed by Christopher Nolan and starring Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent, was released in 2008. Together with Jim Gordon (Gary Oldman) and Batman (Christian Bale), Dent tries to purge Gotham City of organised crime at the beginning of the film. But after The Joker (Heath Ledger) creates an explosion that scars his face and another that murders Dent’s girlfriend Rachel Dawes, he becomes Two-Face (Maggie Gyllenhaal). Recent live-action Harvey Dent was portrayed by Nicholas D’Agosto in the Fox show Gotham. Gotham Knights will stick with Turner as he forms a defence force to keep Gotham City safe while Batman is away.
After being falsely accused of murdering Bruce Wayne, they must also try to clear their reputations. Besides Rahart Adams Brody and Navia Robinson, the cast also includes Fallon Smythe as Harper Row, Tyler DiChiara as Cullen Row, Olivia Rose Keegan as Duela Dent, Anna Lore as Stephanie Brown, and Rahart Adams Brody as Carrie Kelley. Abrams, James Stoteraux, and Chad Fiveash, who previously developed The CW’s Arrowverse series Batwoman, came up with the idea for the show. The show’s executive producers are Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter, and David Madden. The first episode of Gotham Knights will air on The CW in 2023.
