Mario, it’s a movie! The first poster for The Super Mario Bros. Movie was revealed by Nintendo today, just in time for the debut of the film’s new trailer on October 6, 2022, at 1:05 PM PT, which will be the subject of a special Nintendo Direct presentation. On April 7, 2023, moviegoers may see the debut of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. This billboard gives us our first look at Illumination Entertainment and Nintendo’s upcoming collaboration. On the poster, Mario may be seen standing in front of a mountain with a castle perched above it. A swarm of Toads surround Mario as he goes about his day in their beautiful mushroom-adorned hamlet.
The mountainside is home to the infamous labyrinthine pipe systems that have come to represent the Mario franchise. Those apprehensive about any alterations to the classic character in the next film will be relieved to see the new poster. After hearing that Chris Pratt will be voicing Mario in the next film, many fans were concerned that he wouldn’t be able to pull off the character’s distinctive Italian-ish dialect. Even while fans won’t get to hear Pratt as Mario until Thursday, the new image confirms that the film will be visually faithful to the beloved video game franchise. Mario has been around for more than four decades, having made his first appearance in the Donkey Kong arcade game back in 1981.
But shortly after, Mario was given his own game, which eventually became one of the most successful and recognisable video game franchises ever. The franchise’s bright, kid-friendly games have remained some of Nintendo’s most lucrative offerings, and the name Mario has grown to be synonymous with the firm itself. Joining Pratt in the new film are Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach, Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong, Charlie Day as Luigi, and Keegan-Michael Key as Donkey Kong.
A new poster can be seen in the latest tweet from Nintendo. The tweet promotes the release of the film’s new trailer on YouTube at 1:05 PM PT on October 6, 2022. It’s impossible to know how true to form Chris Pratt’s “it’s me, Mario!” will be until the film is out.
