Casting director Rob Tapert has announced the addition of Anders Holm to the forthcoming Godzilla and the Titans series from Legendary Television. He is joining an all-star group that also includes Kurt Russell and his son Wyatt Russell. According to Variety, the star of Workaholics has been cast in the new Apple TV+ series, which will mark the first entry into television from Legendary Pictures’ MonsterVerse. Anna Sawai, Ren Watabe, Kiersey Clemons, Joe Tippett, Elisa Lasowski, Mari Yamamoto, and the Russell family are just a few of the guest stars in the show.
Although specifics on the characters are being kept under wraps for the time being, the show will focus on what happens to a family after the climactic San Francisco monster battle in 2014’s Godzilla, when they learn long-lost secrets about their connection to the mysterious Monarch organisation that monitors and tries to control the series’ giant creatures. Workaholics, a Comic Central sitcom that Holm co-created with his comedy company, Mail Order Comedy, and in which he starred as Dees Holmvik, propelled Holm to popularity. The programme aired for seven seasons, from 2011 to 2017.
He appeared in the Mindy Kaling–created and –executed sitcom Champions and was a regular cast member on her show The Mindy Project. The Netflix comedy film Game Over, Man! he produced and acted in was made by Mail Order Comedy. His most recent role was in the Anna Delvey Netflix miniseries Inventing Anna, and he will soon be featured in the forthcoming Sebastian Maniscalco/Robert De Niro comedy About My Father and the Disney Plus series The Muppets Mayhem. Legendary’s MonsterVerse, which debuted with Godzilla in 2014, is a shared cinematic world featuring Godzilla and other large monsters owned by the Japanese company Toho. Kong: Skull Island (2017), Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019; introducing Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidora), and Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) are the other films in the franchise. Godzilla vs. Kong 2 is currently under production and set for release in 2024.
Matt Fraction and Chris Black co-created and co-created the Godzilla and the Titans series, and they also serve as executive producers for the show. For Marvel’s new Fantastic Four series, Matt Shakman will not only direct the first two episodes but also serve as an executive producer. The Safehouse Pictures duo of Joby Harold and Tory Tunnell, as well as Toho Co., Ltd.’s Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita, are all executive producers on the film.
Production for Godzilla: Clash of the Titans has kicked off in Vancouver.
