Kelly Reilly’s nearly 30-year acting career has been marked by a string of impressive performances, including those in Pride and Prejudice (2005), Calvary, Eden Lake, Mrs Henderson Presents, Me and Orson Welles, and the 2nd season of HBO’s True Detective. We can only anticipate further success for the British actress after her depiction of the feisty Beth Dutton on Yellowstone on the Paramount Network. It was reported this week that Reilly would be joining the cast of Robert Zemeckis’s upcoming picture, Here, in which Forrest Gump veterans Tom Hanks and Robin Wright would also reprise their roles.
Deadline claims that even though the entire film takes place in the same New England town, viewers will be taken on “a magnificent and innovative adventure through time and memory” because of the presence of Reilly in the picture. Specifically, “love, sorrow, hardship, hope, and legacy” will “play out between couples and families through generations” on a single plot of land that was once wild but is now a home. Hanks and Wright may portray one of these couples, and while it’s not certain, Reilly may play a member of another. Paul Bettany has joined the cast in an unannounced role.
Can it be that Bettany and Reilly are just another New England power couple? Who knows? Soon enough, we’ll figure it out. The pre-production process for Here has progressed far, and the picture will soon be released in the United States by Sony Pictures and internationally by Miramax. Here, adapted from the graphic novel by Richard McGuire, sees the return of Forrest Gump’s Best Picture Oscar winner Eric Roth, whose writing for the film earned one of its six Oscars. The director also took home the Best Director award, while Hanks won Best Actor for the second time.
Given the breadth and size of the project, as well as the talent involved, it’s easy to picture Here is another triumph for the inventive, unique director Robert Zemeckis, who will produce the film alongside Jack Rapke of ImageMovers and Bill Block of Miramax. One can only hope that this marks the return to the form of Robert Zemeckis, whose recent films have been less than stellar. I think this movie has a lot of promise. In many ways, this endeavour represents a return to familiar territory. In addition to reconciling with two of his most successful talents, Zemeckis will also get the opportunity to reconnect with Reilly this month with the release of Pinocchio, their first film together since 2000’s Cast Away.
Before she stay on the Dutton Ranch, Reilly had a breakout performance in the 2012 film Flight, in which she had been cast by the director. Without a doubt, the filmmaker secured a fantastic turn from the film’s lead. In the future, they may recreate that success by working together. Season 5 of Yellowstone will premiere in November, thus Reilly is now between seasons. Reilly’s portrayal of Beth Dutton, a fierce competitor, is always entertaining thanks to her fury, persistence, and vengefulness, and the forthcoming season should be no different. The actress has shown herself time and time again on both big and small screens, and her success should carry over to her next part in Here. We promise to update you with any new information we learn about the film.
