James Bond lovers who have an Amazon Prime Video subscription will finally have a lot to watch. Amazon Prime Video will begin streaming all 25 James Bond movies on October 5, including this year’s No Time to Die, the company said on Thursday. The films will be accompanied by a documentary called The Sound of 007, directed by Mat Whitecross and tracing the six-decade evolution of James Bond’s musical compositions. In addition to celebrating the 60th anniversary of the James Bond series, this release also celebrates Amazon’s $8.45 billion acquisition of MGM, the company that holds the rights to the James Bond series.
The Bond films are the shining example of the potential of this acquisition; they have earned over $19.8 billion globally and over $7 billion in the United States. All Prime Video customers in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, India, Italy, Japan, Latin America, Spain, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Southeast Asia will have access to the films for a limited period. A total of 25 films featuring James Bond are scheduled for release. These include the original “Dr No,” as well as “From Russia with Love,” “Goldfinger,” “Thunderball,” “You Only Live Twice,” “On Her Majesty’s Secret Service,” “Diamonds Are Forever,” “Live and Let Die,” “The Man with the Golden Gun,” “The Spy Who Loved Me,” “Moonraker,” “For Your Eyes Only,” “Octopussy,” “A
For the first time ever, every James Bond movie can be seen online in one convenient location. Due to complicated rights issues, the movies were formerly available on a wide variety of streaming platforms. On October 4th, in honour of the release, Amazon will be streaming a concert video titled The Sound of 007: LIVE from the Royal Albert Hall, which will be a benefit event for the James Bond Charity Foundation. Dame Shirley Bassey, Lulu, Chrissie Hynde, and Garbage, among others, will be among the guest vocalists performing classic 007 songs during the performance. David Arnold, a composer for five Bond films, is behind the performance, which was organised by EON Productions and is supported by audio equipment manufacturers Bowers & Wilkins and Omega. In the novels and films of the James Bond series, the title character is a fictitious British Secret Service agent with the code designation 007 who works for MI6, the British Secret Intelligence Service.
The films are based on the novels by Ian Fleming, but there have been several spinoffs and original stories. Aside from movies, 007 has also been adapted for television, comics, and video games. In the previous 60 years, several actors have played the role, including Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan, and most recently, Daniel Craig. Craig’s final Bond appearance was in last year’s No Time to Die, and since then, EON Productions has been looking for a new actor to play 007 in Bond 26.
As on October 5, you can view all 25 Bond movies on Prime Video.
