Dead to Me’s last season will shortly premiere on Netflix, which is exciting news for the show’s many fans. Earlier today, during Netflix’s TUDUM showcase event, the first trailer for the show’s upcoming third and final season was released. A clip from Season 1 with Christina Applegate’s character, Jen, in bereavement counselling, questioning and not understanding “how any of this could have happened,” opens the teaser.
The scene shifts to Judy (Linda Cardinelli), the night she hit Jen’s husband with her automobile by mistake. The teaser revisits various scenes from the previous two seasons, continuing our trip down memory lane and featuring Jen’s poignant letter to Judy in which she told her, “I appreciate our meeting so much. The finest buddy I’ve ever had is you. The most admirable individual I’ve ever met.” The second season concluded on a cliffhanger that left viewers wondering if Jen and Judy were killed in a car accident while driving home. While reliving the accident, the teaser suggests that “all paths have led to here.”
As Judy takes Jen to the hospital in the first Season 3 video, viewers are relieved to learn that the couple survived. As evidenced by her demand that someone get the f—ing doctor, Jen’s attitude is likewise unblemished. Dead to Me, which aired on Netflix in 2019, has been nominated for many Emmys. At the 71st Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, Applegate took home the trophy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series. Applegate portrays real estate salesperson Jen Harding and Cardinelli plays Judy Hale, two women who meet in a therapeutic support group.
Jen’s husband was killed by a hit-and-run motorist, and Judy is keeping a secret about her own loss from Jen. Over the course of the show, they develop a unique and intriguing bond with one another through this circle. Besides Feldman, Jessica Elbaum, Will Ferrell, and Adam McKay, Feldman is responsible for creating the show. On November 17th, Netflix will release the last season of Dead to Me. If you’ve missed the first two seasons, you can watch them online right now on Netflix.
