In spite of the fact that Noah Centineo has been working in the entertainment industry for over a decade, it was his continued work with Netflix, and specifically his roles in the To All The Boys films, that brought him to widespread attention. That the actor is working with the streamer again is thus not unexpected. The actor disclosed the title, release date, and first look image of his Netflix movie during the company’s annual Tudum event. On December 16, Netflix will release The Recruit, a new thriller series starring Noah Centineo. In The Recruit, Centineo plays a CIA lawyer who, when a former asset threatens to betray the organisation, finds himself caught up in hazardous international power intrigues.
The actor seems bruised and damaged in the photograph that was posted after the series of announcements, suggesting the programme may involve some bloody aftermath. Judging by the fear of Centineo’s expression in the new shot and the wounds on his character’s face, he is clearly in over his head, or at least he got more than he bargained for. For Centineo, who has primarily been in teen comedies and dramas, the role of a spy in an upcoming film is a dramatic shift from his previous work. The Perfect Date, Sierra Burgess Is a Loser, SPF-18, Swiped, How to Build a Better Boy, Austin & Ally, and The Fosters are just a few of the other shows he has been in.
Recently, he was seen in the new Charlie’s Angels, and he will soon be playing Atom Smasher in the upcoming Black Adam, with Hollywood stalwarts like Dwayne Johnson and Pierce Brosnan. Netflix has acquired The Recruit, an eight-part series directed by Doug Liman and produced by Hypnotic Banner. The show’s creator, Alexi Hawley, will also act as the show’s executive producer. In addition to Gene Klein and David Bartis, executive producers Hawley, Liman, and Centineo.
The Recruit’s release on Netflix comes during a particularly crowded month that also features the debuts of numerous other highly anticipated films and video games, such as Scrooge: A Christmas Carol, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, Guillermo Del Toro’s Pinocchio, Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, and The Witcher: Blood Origin. Centineo’s performance in an espionage thriller with more sinister elements won’t be revealed until December 16.
