A new teaser trailer for Lupin Part 3, Netflix’s anticipated continuation of the thriller thief series starring Omar Sy, was shown at their TUDUM 2022 Event. Lupin, created and written by George Kay, stars Sy as professional burglar Assane Diop, who is influenced by a book about Arsène Lupin, the gentleman thief, given to him by his father. Assane’s father committed suicide by hanging himself in prison, and 25 years after his death, Assane seeks revenge on his father’s former boss, Hubert Pellegrini (Hervè Pierre), for framing his father for the theft of an expensive diamond necklace.
Assane managed to get Pellegrini to confess to committing crimes against his family by using his thieving, disguising, and charismatic abilities, but now he has gone into hiding to protect his wife Claire (Ludivine Sagnier) and son Raoul (Etan Simon). Within the first 31 seconds of the new teaser trailer, Assane addresses the viewers directly, recounting the series’ important events: avenging his father, bringing down Pellegrini, safeguarding his family, and escaping the shadows to “walk into the light.” Finally, he tells us to watch as he vanishes. This continues from the Season 2 finale, in which he promised his family that he would see them again but that he needed to stay away from them for their protection.
The official narrative states that after seeing the “suffering they undergo because of him,” he returns to Paris to hatch a fresh plot to get them all out and start a new life. In the teaser, we see that Assane has become more than just a robber out for retribution; he is one of France’s most wanted men and wanted posters for him can be found all over the city. Assane constantly checks his rearview mirror for the police and the “ghosts of his past,” putting the reader in a state of unease regardless of whether he is famous or infamous.
A lady who appears to recognise Assane says that he looks like “him,” and the trailer is able to break through the tension in a similar manner as the film’s protagonist. Assane makes it seem like people keep mistaking him for the most sought man in France by claiming he looks just like the wanted man on the poster. Although the release date for Lupin 3 has not been announced, you may view the first two episodes on Netflix right now.
