As a result of Netflix’s TUDUM Event, The Witcher: Blood Origin has gotten a number of patches. New artwork and the premiere date for the prequel series to The Witcher, which will consist of four episodes, have been unveiled. On Christmas Day, December 25, 2022, the first episode of the series will be available on Netflix. A new poster featuring two tattooed arms holding an axe and a blade against a stormy night sky was unveiled alongside the film’s release date.
The report, which was recut and reshot to accommodate more material, was finally released a month ago, and the accompanying poster was just unveiled. Jaskier (Joey Batey), Geralt’s close buddy in The Witcher series, will establish the framing mechanism for the prequel series as he begins to tell the tale of the Conjunction of the Spheres but is then stopped by an elf who claims to know the truth. The Witcher: Blood Origins explores the tale of the Conjunction of Spheres, an event that merged the worlds of monsters, elves, and humans into the one we see in the novels, games, and Netflix shows. Eile (Sophia Brown), a warrior who leaves her clan and her role as the queen’s defender to travel the world as a singer, Fjall (Laurence O’Fuarain), a warrior who joins Éile in her journey, and Scian (Michelle Yeoh), an elf who is searching for a stolen sacred sword, will star in the series. While we have some information about the story’s setting and protagonists, the series’ real narrative remains a mystery.
A segment featuring the show’s stars also debuted alongside the poster and release date announcement. Showrunner and co-executive producer for the forthcoming spinoff are The Witcher author Declan de Barra, with Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, Sean Daniel, Jason Brown, Tomasz Bagiski, Jaroslaw Sawko, and Matt O’Toole also involved. Along with Alex Meenehan, Aaron Stewart-Ahn, Tania Lotia, Kiersten Van Horne, and Tasha Huo, De Barra will direct episodes of the show. On December 25th, Netflix will debut The Witcher: Blood Origin.
