Fans of Lieutenant Commander James Reece may relax now that the Commander has strongly hinted at a return “to the well.” Chris Pratt, who plays the protagonist in the Amazon Prime action thriller The Terminal List, told Deadline that the show’s exciting plot would continue beyond the first season’s eight episodes. Today, Pratt made the announcement during an interview on the Danger Close podcast with Jack Carr, author of the best-selling book The Terminal List, from which the show is inspired. “To the diehard fans of The Terminal List out there, you have nothing to worry about,” Pratt said when asked if there will be a second season.
Adding on, “We love you and appreciate your help,” they said. To ensure that you may return to the well is our life’s work. We’re putting in time and effort. While echoing Pratt’s thoughts, Carr said, “There may be some exciting stuff on the future being addressed.” Because of the conflicting reactions, the pilot got from critics, fans have been debating the show’s potential continuation. The main point of criticism is that the story’s central premise, a vengeance plot, is too familiar and provides no fresh insight.
Regardless, audiences found it enjoyable, particularly the action scenes and camerawork. Despite the negative reviews, the first season of The Terminal List has been seen for an average of 1.6 billion minutes. Those are very impressive figures, and while Prime Video hasn’t confirmed a second season just yet, it seems probable that one will be ordered. The action genre seems to be where Prime Video has come out on top in the ongoing struggle between streaming titans. The service has a number of action-revenge movies, including Without Remorse, starring Michael B. Jordan, and directed by Stefano Sollima. After his Navy SEAL squad is attacked while completing a high-stakes operation, Pratt’s character, James Reece, goes on a vicious vengeance quest in The Terminal List.
He makes it through the ambush and returns home, but his memories are jumbled. He has pieced together enough evidence to form a firm suspicion of wrongdoing. His initial suspicions are strengthened by further occurrences, propelling him on a road of interrogating and sometimes torturing his suspects. Aside from Pratt, the cast includes Taylor Kitsch, Constance Wu, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Riley Keough, Patrick Schwarzenegger, and Arlo Mertz. In addition to starring and directing the pilot, Pratt also acts as an executive producer on the show alongside Antoine Fuqua and David DiGilio. Carr, David Auge, Jon Schumacher, and Daniel Shattuck are the other producers. The Terminal List has 8 episodes, all of which may be viewed in their entirety on Amazon Prime Video.
