In chapter 270 of Tokyo Revengers, we not only witness Keisuke Baji in all his middle school splendour, but we also delve into the lives of various characters from the canon chronology. Both Haruchiyo and Wakasa play significant roles in this chapter, with the former expected to become more important in subsequent chapters. Nonetheless, Shinichiro Sano stands out as the chapter’s main focus. As Mikey’s life spirals lower in the wake of his brother’s death, we accompany him through the last chapters of Tokyo Revengers (chapter 270). By the chapter’s end, Shinichiro has learned the truth about time travel through jumps in time.
The original timeline for the lives of Baji, Haruchiyo, Mikey, Wakasa, and Shinichiro is depicted in Tokyo Revengers Chapter 270. As we saw in the last chapter, Mikey’s childhood injury left him in a vegetative condition from which he never fully recovered in the original timeline. As a result, Mikey and Baji probably never met Chifuyu or Draken, and there would be no Tokyo Manji Gang in that scenario. Worth My While is the title of chapter 270 in Tokyo Revengers.
This section will summarise Chapter 270
Beginning in Tokyo Revengers chapter 270, Shinichiro and Baji travel to Juvenile Prison to retrieve Haruchiyo, who has been serving time for using a katana to injure his pals. Baji is hesitant to rekindle ties with his boyhood buddy, but Shinichiro reassures him that Haruchiyo reacted the way he did because he felt threatened by the people who were making fun of Mikey. When Haruchiyo is freed from jail, he is taken aback to see Shinichiro and Baji waiting for him. Takeomi and his brother have severed ties, as seen in Tokyo Revengers Chapter 270. They go with Shinichiro to see Mikey, who has been in a vegetative condition for so long that neither of them can recognise him.
Both Haruchiyo and his boyhood buddy Mikey are astonished to see this guy. Following their grandfather’s passing, Baji is concerned about Shinichiro, who has thrown himself into taking care of Mikey and studying to become a nurse. Since Emma abandoned him at home, he is now at risk of collapsing. Baji, though, adds sadly that Mikey doesn’t have long to live. A month later, on July 20, Manjiro Sano really dies. Shinichiro’s loss of control stems from his brother’s passing. He tells Wakasa that in his search for treatment for Manjiro, he paid a lot of shady groups. Waka, now the gang boss and bar owner, takes his old pal out for a drink. A bunch of drunks they meet there to tell a wild story about meeting an elderly man who claimed to be able to travel across time. Shinichiro approaches the inebriated man and inquires about the time jumper from him. As punishment for their silence, he viciously assaults them before asking again.
Conclusion
It’s clear that the events in chapter 270 of Tokyo Revengers diverge significantly from the official timeline in terms of the personalities of the characters involved. Baji is in middle school but he doesn’t care about his mother’s wishes or attend class. In the established timeframe, he doesn’t look nearly as threatening as he does here. Haruchiyo’s hair is shorter and he has a scar over his left eye. Wakasa sports the same tattoos that fans of the series associated with Benkei. Since Mikey was the last of their immediate family, it’s understandable that Shinichiro would have clung to him so fiercely at the expense of his own needs. Though he apparently maintains at least some touch with Wakasa and Takeomi, he looks to be far less stable mentally than his canon counterpart. From what he’s said, it seems he’s less concerned with doing the right thing and more interested in getting his way.
The identity of the ancient time-leaper remains unknown, despite the fact that the drunkard’s narrative included a trigger. Since Wakasa is singled out in Chapter 270 of Tokyo Revengers rather than any of Shinichiro’s other buddies, it’s safe to assume that he will serve as the catalyst. However, many fans have pointed out that Haruchiyo is just as loyal to Mikey in the other timeline as he is in the mainstream one, suggesting that he is the catalyst. To find out how mangaka Ken Wakui has plotted this out, readers will have to wait until the next chapter.
