Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel to Star in “Shotgun Wedding”, Release Date, Cast & More

Shotgun Wedding, an upcoming romantic comedy from Prime Video, features Jennifer Lopez and Josh Duhamel as an arguing couple. Fans are getting a good look at not only the relationship between the lead characters, but also at high-profile ensemble members D’Arcy Carden, Cheech Marin, and Lenny Kravitz, according to a new trailer posted to the streamer’s Twitter account today. The first photo pairing of Lopez’s Darcy and Duhamel’s Tom shows the couple’s rocky history together. One photo shows the newlyweds tenderly cuddling, while the other shows them engaged in a full-on tug-of-war while still dressed in their wedding attire.

The messier photo, upon closer study, shows the pair restrained in zip ties, hinting at the kidnapping plot point of the film. The second group of images, like the first, shows contrasting emotions at the celebrations. The opening scene has Carden and Marin toasting Darcy and Tom’s wedding with a bottle of champagne shared by the two of them. Kravitz appears to be knee-deep in water with his fists clenched in a very different setting in the second shot. The guests at the wedding, who are standing behind him, are all staring anxiously at the person in the centre of the room with their hands up as if in submission.
Darcy and Tom’s battle to unite their diverse and resistant families for their vacation wedding will be at the heart of Shotgun Wedding.

As the wedding day draws near, the couple starts to have second thoughts about their relationship because of underlying problems. But when the couple’s loved ones are kidnapped, the stress on their relationship becomes too much to bear, and they must put aside their differences and work together to rescue their loved ones. It was announced in 2020 that Lopez and Armie Hammer would appear in the film, but Hammer dropped out after disturbing claims surfaced against him. After he left, the role of Megatron in Transformers was cast. In addition to Jennifer Coolidge and Sonia Braga, Selena Tan and Callie Hernandez will also star in the film.

Director Jason Moore (Pitch Perfect) is in charge again, and the screenplay was written by Mark Hammer and Liz Meriwether (New Girl). Mandeville Productions will be headed by Todd Lieberman and David Hoberman. With her colleagues Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas and Benny Medina, Lopez will also produce under the Nuyorican Productions banner.
On January 27th, 2023, Prime Video will be hit with the arrival of Shotgun Wedding.
