New footage from ABC’s Home Economics, premiering today in advance of Season 3. The new video features an epic Star Wars-themed combat at Disneyland’s Galaxy’s Edge attraction. An episode titled “Mickey Ears, $19.99” delivers precisely what one would anticipate. Topher Grace (That ’70s Show) and Jimmy Tatro (American Vandal) star as Tom and Connor, respectively, in the new 41-second teaser set in the midst of a skirmish on Batuu in Galaxy’s Edge. Tom wielding a blue plastic lightsaber, Connor a red one. Tom expresses his annoyance that Connor thinks what’s best for him simply because he has more money than the struggling author, and the two of them circle the table a few times before settling on a middle ground.
After a few more blows, Tom is disarmed and left clinging to the pole like he’s in the Cloud City of Bespin. When Connor stands over his beaten older brother and announces that he is Tom’s publisher, Tom’s tears would make Mark Hamill cry. Marina, Tom’s wife (Karla Souza), apologises to a member of the Chewbacca cast. Home Economics, a new sitcom by Michael Colton and John Aboud set to premiere in April 2021, centres on three adult siblings and their families as they attempt to make ends meet in modern society. Colton not only works as a writer but also as an executive producer alongside Aboud, Grace, Dean Holland, Eric and Kim Tannenbaum, and Jason Wang. Sarah, played by Caitlin McGee, is Tom and Connor’s middle sister and a child therapist.
Connor and Tom are the oldest and youngest brothers, respectively. Sasheer Zamata plays Sarah’s professional teacher wife Denise, while Jordyn Curet plays their daughter Shamiah, JeCobi Swain plays their son Kelvin, and Chloe Jo Rountree plays Tom and Marina’s daughter Camila. On May 13, 2022, only a few days before the May 18 season two finale, the show was revived for a third season. Home Economics Season 3 premieres today, September 21, at 9:30/8:30c, marking a new weekly release day and hour for the show.
