The actor and comedian announced on Instagram that Season 5 of Inside Amy Schumer will soon be available on Paramount+. After a six-year absence, fans will finally get to see the return of their favourite sketch comedy. Schumer said in a message announcing the revival, “I decided to bring back Inside Amy Schumer to destroy any lingering bridges.” Improved greatly from before. As disappointing as it may be, season four was not as fantastic as the previous two. Close, however. The premieres of the first two episodes of the fifth season will occur simultaneously in October, and the subsequent three episodes will be published every week until the season finale.
Schumer assured viewers that they wouldn’t be disappointed by the show since it wouldn’t be “holding anything back.” You won’t want to miss the programme that permanently cancels me, he joked. In 2016, after a greenlight had been given for the fifth season of the comedy series Schumer created, wrote, directed, produced, and starred in, she decided to cancel the project for the “foreseeable future” so that she could focus on her touring and other projects. When Paramount decided to start its own streaming service, they approached the comedian with high expectations and a concept for a five-part series, but she was legally bound to perform a Season 5.
By that point, Schumer was ready to bring the show back from the dead, and she swiftly rounded up a number of the original cast and crew to help her out. She told The Hollywood Reporter, “Because I have these very particular ideas that I want to communicate and also [I want to] do something amusing,” she felt a need for the show. The sketch comedy series, which won both an Emmy and a Peabody, dealt with taboo issues and made fun of the celebrity lifestyle. Celebrities such as Jake Gyllenhaal, Selena Gomez, Tina Fey, Steve Buscemi, Liam Neeson, and Laura Linney made memorable guest appearances on Inside Amy Schumer during the course of the show’s four seasons.
Schumer, though, intends to be less insensitive in her humour this time around. She said, “seeing the harm in joking around about things that are hurtful and taking more responsibility and having it not just be about wanting to sneak into this boys’ club.” She went on to explain that she has been “educating” herself about the consequences of her jokes on the audience. Schumer has been quite productive since the end of Season 4. She has starred in a number of films, as well as written, directed, and produced Hulu’s Life & Beth, and oversaw Food Network’s Amy Schumer Learns to Cook for eight episodes.
