With the release of Halloween Ends in theatres and on Peacock on October 14, new footage is being unveiled that alludes to Laurie Strode’s final confrontation with Michael Myers. Recently, a featurette has been released, giving fans even more information and even including an interview with horror star Jamie Lee Curtis. An interview with Curtis, titled “Halloween Ends – ‘The Final Reckoning,'” explores the significance of her involvement for both her and the legion of dedicated fans who have followed the iconic horror series throughout the years.
In what looks to be her final performance as the iconic final girl, the featurette shows Curtis breaking down in tears as the cast and crew celebrate her hard work. With Halloween Ends, the critically acclaimed saga comes to an epic and horrific end as Strode finally confronts her foe and the essence of evil. The film’s synopsis suggests that “just one of them with survive” at the end of this unprecedented showdown. The events of Halloween Ends take place in 2025, four years after the events of Halloween Kills’ 2021 debut. While Laurie (Andi Matichak) prepares her memoir, she has moved in with her granddaughter Allyson. Decades after letting her anxiety and anger over Michael shape her life, Laurie has finally broken free.
A chain reaction of violence and fear is set off when Corey Cunningham (Rohan Campbell) is accused of killing a youngster he was babysitting, forcing Laurie to finally face the evil she can’t stop. Curtis said in the special that there was no way for her to have known how much adoration her role would earn when filming the original 1978 version. “That is the spirit of these Halloween flicks,” Curtis remarked. “Saying farewell to Laurie Strode will be a wrench.” Co-stars Will Patton (Officer Frank Hawkins), Kyle Richards (Lindsey Wallace), and James Jude Courtney (The Shape) are all back for Halloween Ends. Originating with the same crew that brought us Halloween and Halloween Kills in 2018, the franchise is back and better than ever. Written by David Gordon Green, Paul Brad Logan, Chris Bernier, and Danny McBride, and based on the characters developed by John Carpenter and Debra Hill, David Gordon Green helms Halloween Ends.
Actor Malek Akkad, director Jason Blum, and writer/director Bill Block are all producers of this. Carpenter, Curtis, McBride, Green, Ryan Freimann, Ryan Turek, Andrew Golov, Thom Zadra, and Christopher H. Warner also served as executive producers. Production companies Rough House Pictures, Miramax, and Universal Pictures will be presenting the film. On October 14, Halloween Ends will be released in cinemas and on Peacock.
