The Release of ‘Madame Web’ Delayed Until Winter 2024, Cast, Synopsis & More

Marvel’s Madame Web has moved its release date after it was announced that Sony Pictures has added three major new projects to its 2023-2024 theatrical release calendar. After being scheduled for an October 6th, 2023 debut, the film’s new release date is February 16th, 2024. Dakota Johnson will play the title role, a clairvoyant mutant, in the Spider-Man spin-off Madame Web. Sydney Sweeney, Celeste O’Connor, Isabela Merced, Tahar Rahim, Emma Roberts, Mike Epps, Adam Scott, and Zosia Mamet all feature in Madame Web with Johnson. Among the upcoming releases from Sony is the sequel to 2018’s Searching, dubbed Missing; a new Karate Kid picture; and an unnamed horror thriller based on a genuine haunting.

Storm Reid and Nia Long headline the upcoming film Missing, which opens on February 24, 2024. The new Karate Kid movie is scheduled for a June 7, 2024 release, while the unnamed genuine haunting movie is set for an early 2023 release, on January 6, 2023. To yet, no talent has been associated with any of those roles. Sony Pictures has delayed the release of many other planned films in addition to Madame Web. Garfield, Kraven the Hunter, and an unnamed film from the Sony/Marvel Universe are among these.

The next Garfield movie, which had been set for release in theatres on February 16, 2024, has been pushed back to the weekend of May 24, 2024, for Memorial Day. Both Kraven the Hunter (originally scheduled for January 13, 2023) and the unnamed Sony/Marvel feature (originally scheduled for June 7, 2024) have been rescheduled until later in the year. There is also the case of 65, an astronaut film starring Adam Driver and directed by Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, which has moved its original release date of April 28, 2024, to March 10 of the same year. The Spider-Man films produced by Sony have been nicknamed the SSU, and Madame Web is the sixth feature in the series.

Madame Web made her debut in The Amazing Spider-Man #210, released in November 1980. S. J. Clarkson helms Madame Web, which was written by Burk Sharpless and Matt Sazama. Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Erik Howsam, and Palak Patel are the film’s producers. In addition, Columbia Pictures is involved. Production kicked off in the middle of July and is slated to wrap up in the middle of October. Madame Web’s initial release date was set for July 7, 2023, so this isn’t the first time its premiere has been postponed. On February 16th, 2024, Sony Pictures will distribute Madame Web exclusively in cinemas.
