Synopsis, Release An Ultra HD 4K version of Steven Soderbergh’s crime drama, The Limey, is scheduled for release this fall& Cast Details

The classic criminal drama The Limey will be available on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray, and digital platforms on October 11. The Steven Soderbergh picture will be released by Lionsgate with exclusive extras and stylish SteelBook packaging, great for impressing friends at your next movie night. Terence Stamp plays Wilson, a grieving parent with a goal in The Limey. Wilson’s daughter was killed in a vehicle accident. Wilson is as violent as he is deadly, and he is convinced that his child’s murder was no accident. Wilson sets out for Los Angeles from London hoping to find answers to the questions surrounding the tragedy, but he soon discovers that his prime suspect is just as evasive as the others.

Wilson’s dead daughter had an ex-boyfriend named Terry Valentine (Peter Fonda), a rich music promoter who finds himself in serious water with the homicidal and enraged dad. As Wilson gets closer and closer to his intended victim, Terry can’t seem to escape the feeling that he’s in danger. Following the success of his debut feature, the drama Sex, Lies, and Videotape (1989), Soderbergh’s career hit a rough patch before he staged a remarkable recovery with the film The Limey. The film’s success may be attributed in large part to the stellar cast of A-list Hollywood actors and the solid writing of the screenplay. Lesley Ann Warren, Luis Guzmán, and Barry Newman rounded out the cast, which included actors like Stamp and Fonda.

With this picture, the filmmaker would return to the form that earned him critical acclaim for Erin Brockovich and the first three Ocean films over the past two decades. This year, the director released Kimi, a thriller starring Zo Kravitz, on HBO Max. The stylish SteelBook packaging for this edition features a dramatic photo of Stamp as Wilson, smoke coming out of his lips, and a red striped cover. Two audio commentaries, one with Soderbergh and screenwriter Lem Dobbs, and the other featuring the same two people plus main performers Jane Fonda, Terence Stamp, Paul Newman, and Leslie Warren, should pique the buyer’s interest in the additional features as well.

Learn the inside scoop on how the exciting drama was made from people who worked on the set. The “isolated score” feature allows viewers to enjoy the film with just the score, composed by Cliff Martinez.
