An exclusive screening of the forthcoming holiday film Violent Night will take place at this year’s New York Comic Con on October 7. In the end, on December 2, the picture will debut in cinemas exclusively. It was made by the same team that brought you Nobody and Bullet Train. David Harbour (Stranger Things) as Santa Claus in the horror film Violent Night. This version of the legendary Christmas character will be more aggressive than his customary jovial representations in the past, so viewers should be careful not to land up on his naughty list.
On Christmas Eve, a squad of mercenaries break into the house of an affluent family who would serve as the film’s protagonists. To their surprise, the evening takes a dark turn when good ol’ Saint Nick shows up to put a stop to the invasion with force. Fans of recent horror-themed holiday flick like Krampus and Black Christmas may enjoy Violent Night as a pre-Holiday treat while visiting New York Comic Con. On Friday, October 7 at 7:15 pm, the Empire Stage will host the private screening events.
Given that Violent Night has an R rating, we may assume that there will be several bloody battles between Santa and the mercenaries. Director Tommy Wirkola is responsible for the picture. He is recognised for his work on Dead Snow and Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters. Writing the script are Sonic the Hedgehog veterans Pat Casey and Josh Miller.
