Now that Halloween is over and winter is here, it’s time to switch to feel-good romantic movies when you’re curled up on the couch. Fans of Lindsay Lohan have been missing her onscreen presence despite the abundance of best friend nuptials and P.S. I love you in the Irish heather. She’s back this year in the fantasy romance film Irish Wish, streaming on Netflix. Ed Speleers, Alexander Vlahos, Ayesha Curry, Elizabeth Tan, and Jane Seymour have all confirmed their attendance at this wedding, which is sure to be a pleasant surprise for all of the invited guests. The wonderful plot of Irish Wish follows Maddie (Lohan), who is devastated when her closest friend gets engaged to the man she has secretly been crushing on. Maddie, despite her sadness at losing the man she thought would be her forever, attends her closest friend’s wedding.
Moreover, she plans to attend the wedding in Ireland in full bridesmaid regalia. Maddie is supposed to be a bridesmaid, but after making a wish for true love just days before the wedding, she finds herself dressed as the bride. When Maddie’s life seems to have finally come together as she’d hoped, she discovers that perhaps her soul mate wasn’t who she thought it would be. Netflix has recently confirmed who else from the cast will be joining Lohan at the wedding, albeit their roles are unknown at this time.
Before landing recurring roles on Downton Abbey as Jimmy Kent and Outlander as Stephen Bonnet, Speleers is best recognised for his lead role in the 2006 movie adaption of Eragorn. In addition to his time on Outlander, Vlahos spent a season playing the villainous Mordred on the BBC fantasy series Merlin. In addition to the casting announcement, the streaming service has promised some interesting details about forthcoming original shows and films at TUDUM, its second annual worldwide fan event. Curry, who has been in guest parts on shows including “Hannah Montana,” “Good Luck Charlie,” and “A Black Lady Sketch Show,” is also a part of the cast for “Irish Wish.” Tan from Emily in Paris and Seymour from Wedding Crashers make up the additional cast members. Director Janeen Damian and romantic comedy writer Kirsten Hansen (Chesapeake Shores) collaborated on Irish Wish.
Hansen, Amanda Phillips, Jimmy Townsend, and Vince Balzano serve as executive producers, while Michael Damian and Brad Krevoy of MPCA serve as producers for Rivera Films. While Irish Wish is yet to see a release date, Lohan will next be seen in the Netflix original holiday film Falling for Christmas on November 10.
