Horror aficionados and music nerds alike are becoming frightfully excited about the October 31st release date for the Halloween Ends soundtrack. The latest instalment in the rebooted Halloween trilogy, released in 2018, successfully pays homage to the past films in the horror genre while also providing a new take on the series. The new soundtrack for the next film has brand-new music by John Carpenter that is equally as eerie as his previous work in the genre. On October 14, 2022, the soundtrack will be made available to the public. Carpenter, who directed the original film and composed the iconic music from the 1978 slasher, collaborated with his son Cody Carpenter and Daniel Davies to compose the new score.
Boy Harsher has contributed a brand new song titled “Burn it Down” to the soundtrack. The new soundtrack, titled “Procession,” retains the same ominous synth tones as the original while adding a richer depth to the music as if it had matured with the series. Boy Harsher composed a brand new song called “Burn It Down” for the next movie. Boy Harsher has spoken highly of the chance to be featured on such a legendary soundtrack, saying, “[o]bviously we’re huge fans of Carpenter and the franchise is a fav, but to work with Gordon Green was also so special, his early films (George Washington, Undertow, Snow Angels) were heavy influences on our work.
The real kicker is that Halloween Ends was shot in Savannah, GA – the birthplace of Boy Harsher and where we met. In the film, Laurie Strode is in the last stages of writing her autobiography while she lives with her granddaughter, Allyson. Michael Myers hasn’t been seen in years, so everything is calm again. But her serenity will be shattered shortly, and Laurie will have to confront the evil once more. This film, Halloween Kills, closes up a series that began in 1978 and is widely credited with ushering in the slasher film genre’s golden period. Series star Jamie Lee Curtis reprises her role as Laurie Strode in the upcoming Halloween films.
David Gordon Green helms Halloween Ends, a film he co-wrote with Paul Brad Logan, Chris Bernier, and Danny McBride. On January 20th, 2023, the Boy Harsher “Burn It Down” EP will be published on vinyl. On October 14 in the year 2022, the soundtrack will be made available for purchase.
