Casting news for Rian Johnson’s forthcoming series Poker Face keeps trickling in. There are now three more outstanding actors in the show’s ensemble cast. The cast of the murder-mystery series has reportedly expanded to include Brandon Micheal Hall, Colton Ryan, and Megan Suri, as reported by Variety. In keeping with past casting announcements, the identities of the new cast members in the Natasha Lyonne-led series will remain hidden; after all, the show is a murder mystery. The three performers will join the already announced Cherry Jones, Luis Guzmán, Hong Chau, and Reed Birney in the group.
Hall gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Courtney Rose on the ABC comedy The Mayor in 2017, in which he also starred. Rose was the mayor of Fort Grey and want to be a rapper. In the CBS comedy-drama, God Friended Me, Hall’s character gets a friend request from the omniscient entity. The show ran for two seasons. He also appeared in Search Party, and production on the Amazon Studios and BBC One psychological thriller series Chloe, in which he co-starred with Erin Doherty, recently concluded. Suri has a long list of television appearances to her name, including guest roles on 13 Reasons Why, Fresh Off the Boat, and How to Get Away with Murder.
The actress has appeared in several episodes of the Netflix adolescent comedy series Never Have I Ever as the character Aneesa. Ryan’s breakout role as Conrad Roy in The Girl From Plainville is largely responsible for his meteoric climb to fame. His character, like the one he portrays, committed suicide at the urging of his girlfriend, Michelle Carter, who was with him at the time and listening in on the phone call. The actor has previously portrayed Connor Murphy, who likewise dies at the end of the film adaptation of Dear Evan Hansen. Some of Ryan’s other works are Uncle Frank and the Little Voice series on Apple TV+.
In addition to directing Poker Face, Johnson also directed Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, which stars Daniel Craig and will debut on Netflix on December 23. Johnson will not only direct Poker Face but also act as the show’s head writer. His coworkers on the new series include Ram Bergman, Nena Rodriguez, Maya Rudolph, and Danielle Renfrew Behrens. Nora and Lilli Zuckerman, sisters, will be in charge of the show’s creative direction. Adrien Brody, Angel Desai, Audrey Corsa, Benjamin Bratt, Charles Melton, Chlo Sevigny, Clea DuVall, and Danielle MacDonald are among the other actors featured in the series. Many other well-known actors have appeared in them, such as Dascha Polanco, Ellen Barkin, Jasmine Aiyana Garvin, Lil Rel Howery, Niall Cunningham, Nicholas Cirillo, Nick Nolte, Ron Perlman, Jameela Jamil, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Judith Light, and Leslie Silva.
