New Posters for “Avatar” Released as Tickets Go on Sale for the Film’s Return to Theaters

Tickets for the re-release of James Cameron’s Avatar are now on sale, and the film’s official Twitter account has announced that fans may once again see Pandora in a way they have never seen before. Its triumphant return to theatres has been commemorated by the unveiling of two special posters in conjunction with the beginning of ticket sales.
As seen on the official IMAX Twitter feed, the poster features a stunning array of recognisable stills from the film. Poster for “Avatar,” starring Sam Worthington (Jake Sully) and Zoe Saldana (Neytiri), with the official Avatar logo in white. Underneath them is a jumble of important moments from the film, including the final struggle for Pandora and numerous of the planet’s animals, such as the deadly Thanator and the Great Leonopteryx.

The poster does a wonderful job of summarising the film’s most memorable scenes. In addition to a new IMAX poster, Dolby has unveiled an exclusive poster of its own, which has Jake Sully and Neytiri against a backdrop of magnificent landscape highlighting Pandora’s distinctive rock formations and its famous floating mountains, which remain one of the most memorable parts of the film. Soon, fans of the Avatar franchise will be able to relive their favourite moments on the biggest screen imaginable, since the film is making its theatrical debut on all media later this month. With the release of Avatar: The Way of Water coming up in December, audiences are eager to see the first instalment of the franchise once again. The 3D extravaganza that swept the globe in 2009 will finally be available to a new generation 13 years after its first theatrical premiere.

The re-release, however, will include improved quality thanks to a new 4K HDR master that brings the film’s already impressive level of detail and colour vibrancy to a whole new level. It’s been said that the film’s faster frame rate will make the 3D feel more natural and immerse the audience. There has been no word yet on when the enhanced 4K Blu-ray edition of the picture would be made available to the public, although that may change once the film’s brief two-week run in theatres concludes. In case you missed it the first time around, Avatar will be re-released in cinemas on September 23 in all formats, and tickets are on sale now.
