A new trailer for Aqua Teen Hunger Force’s impending feature-length adventure Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm has premiered on Adult Swim after the series was dark for more than seven years. In order to defeat the greatest evil of all, our corporate overlords, Frylock (Carey Means), Master Shake (Dana Snyder), Meatwad (Dave Willis), and their sleazy neighbour Carl (Willis) have come out of retirement. This new trailer hints at their eventual return to fight the all-powerful super company Amazin and the Cronenberg-esque plant monsters it unleashes. The promo opens with our fast-food heroes at rock bottom: Aqua Teen Hunger Force has disbanded.
Frylock and Master Shake are not on good terms, we discover with the dramatic flare of a movie trailer. CEO of Amazin, Neil (Peter Serafinowicz), is an out-of-touch employer who is prone to placing his warehouse workers in awful circumstances and threatening them with death seconds after dubbing them one big happy family. Frylock is more connected with Wall Street big wigs and tech giants like him. Since the invasion of plant monsters has made life in South Jersey Shore increasingly difficult, he has reunited with his old friends to do some weed whacking.
Carl goes full Mad Max to fight the monsters, and the Teens band together to devise a strategy to defend the city. A bevvy of great voice actors, including Emmy contender Natasha Rothwell (The White Lotus) and Emmy winner Tim Robinson (The Simpsons), join the primary ensemble of Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm (I Think You Should Leave with Tim Robinson). The film’s founders, Willis and Matt Maiellaro teamed together again to helm and pen the script, with Williams Street Productions handling production. In recent years, Adult Swim has done a great job with its classic series. There is currently no release date information available for the other two planned movies based on the network’s iconic classic episodes, Metalocalypse and The Venture Bros. Aqua Teen Hunger Force, one of the network’s longest-running series with 11 seasons and a feature, has received special attention from the company since it first on the platform in 2001.
Adult Swim launched a series of shorts on their YouTube site called Aquadonk Side Pieces, which brought back not just the Teens but also their all-time biggest enemies, allowing fans to see that universe for the first time since the programme ended in 2015. On digital, 4K Ultra HD, and Blu-ray on November 8, 2022, Aqua Teen Forever: Plantasm brings back the Teens. Furthermore, in 2023, it will debut on HBO Max and Adult Swim.
