Milo Ventimiglia and Luke Hemsworth are among the five new cast members for the action film Land of Bad. Australian filmmaker Will Eubank has been tapped to lead the military actioner. Russell Crowe and Luke’s brother Liam Hemsworth will be the film’s main stars, while the likes of Milo Ventimiglia, Chris Hemsworth, Ricky Whittle, Daniel MacPherson, and Chika Ikogwe will also have significant roles. Crowe portrays Reaper, an Air Force drone pilot sent to a Special Forces operation in the South Philippines. Assisted by junior joint terminal attack controller Kinney (Liam Hemsworth), the squad led by Captain Sugar (Ventimiglia) and Sergeant Abel (Luke Hemsworth) is dispatched to rescue a captive comrade and asset.
The operation quickly goes south, leaving Kinney with just Reaper as his means of getting out of the so-called “Land of Bad.” Ventimiglia has finished filming the sixth and final season of the NBC drama This Is Us. The Company You Keep, a drama series set to debut on ABC in 2019, will be his next project. Like Chris Evans, Luke Hemsworth has just finished off a lengthy stint on television. This year, he also appeared in the fourth (and perhaps last) season of Westworld on HBO.
In the next action comedy Bad Hombres, he will co-star Thomas Jane and Tyrese Gibson. Whittle, a British actor, played a major role in the last season of American Gods. MacPherson, an Australian actor, has been on Strike Back on Cinemax and Foundation on Apple. Later this month, you can catch Ikogwe in the launch of Netflix’s revival of the Australian high school drama Heartbreak High.
Oscar winner Russell Crowe co-starred with Luke and Chris Hemsworth in this year’s Thor: Love and Thunder, which can now be seen on Disney Plus. The new thriller Poker Face will include Crowe and Liam Hemsworth, well known for his role as Gale in the Hunger Games saga. The Signal (2014), Underwater (2020), and Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin (2013) are all films that Eubank directed. The film Land of Bad will be co-written by Eubank and David Frigerio, who will also serve as the film’s producer for Broken Open Pictures. Will Eubank, Adam Beasley and Michael Jefferson of Volition Media Partners, R.U. Robot, and Highland Film Group are also producers. Hoodlum Entertainment’s Tracey Robertson, Nathan Mayfield, and Tracey Vieira will serve as the executive producers. This month, filming for Land of Bad will commence in Southeast Queensland and on Australia’s Gold Coast.
