‘The Visitor’, Cast, Release Date, Synopsis & Everything you need to know

The official trailer for The Visitor, Epix’s latest psychological thriller, has just been released by Paramount Pictures. A man’s life unravels in The Visitor after he discovers an old photograph of his lookalike in the childhood house he shares with his wife. Directing the film from a script written by Adam Mason and Simon Boyes is Justin P. Lange. Actors Finn Jones (Iron Fist), Jessica McNamee (The Meg), Dane Rhodes (The Magnificent Seven), and Donna Biscoe (The Visitor) are featured in the film (The Fundamentals of Caring). According to the new teaser, The Visitor is a mind-bending thriller in the manner of Jacob’s Ladder.

At the beginning of the trailer, Robert (Jones) and Maia’s (McNamee) husband move into Maia’s childhood house, where he discovers a peculiar portrait that he believes looks precisely like him. As the film progresses, Robert notices that the locals are treating him differently, and he begins to suspect that everyone around him is part of a plot involving himself and the image. The official teaser for The Visitor suggests a modern gothic that is sure to throw viewers for a loop. As of right now, The Visitor is 86 minutes long and has received no MPAA rating. Both Mason and Boyes (who wrote the thriller Songbird) and director Lange (who directed the independent horror films The Dark and The Seventh Day) have extensive experience in the horror genre.

Blumhouse, with Jason Blum as executive producer, is behind the next horror film. In addition to Bradley Pilz and Greg Gilreath, Adam Hendricks, Jeremy Gold, Chris McCumber, David Grove, and Churchill Viste are also executive producers. It turns out that The Visitor is just one of eight movies that Blumhouse Television and EPIX have agreed to distribute. The films The Deep House, A House on the Bayou, American Refugee, Torn Hearts, and Inhuman have all been made available to the public via Blumhouse and Epix, while There’s Something Wrong with the Children and Unseen is still in the pipeline. Initially airing on Epix in December, The Visitor will be available on digital and on-demand platforms beginning October 7.

Synopsis
“When Robert and his wife Maia move into Maia’s childhood house, he finds an ancient photograph of a guy who looks much like him, a man they call “The Visitor,” in the attic. He begins to go deeper and deeper into the rabbit hole of fear in an effort to learn more about his mystery doppelganger, only to discover that every family has its own horrible secrets.”
