Even though Christmas is still months away, Lifetime is already in the festive spirit and preparing for the season. The network has a slew of new Christmas movies airing this season, and one of them just had an actor cast in it. Variety reports that Jane Seymour and Joe Lando have joined the cast of Lifetime’s holiday film, A Christmas Spark. This movie is one of three in the network’s It’s a Wonderful Lifetime series. Seymour and Lando, who previously costarred on the popular CBS show Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman, will be reuniting for the holiday comedy A Christmas Spark.
This new work depicts the transformation of melancholy and isolation into festive cheer. Seymour plays Molly, a widow who intends to spend the holidays with her daughter after her husband dies. When Molly finally gets there, she makes the quick decision to lead the town’s annual Christmas pageant, which her daughter is organising. Lando’s Hank is the town’s most eligible bachelor, so when she finds she has feelings for him, he assigns her this assignment. The wonder of the holiday season. Earlier this year, Seymour reflected on her time as the lead in Dr Quinn, Medicine Woman, when she met Lando, who she now calls “my best male friend, to this day.” Seymour, in her part in the CBS drama, has experienced the enchantment at the heart of the plot for this new endeavour.
The Golden Globe and Emmy winner describes the part as “This was never in the plan for me. They were never meant to produce it.” But the drama “simply had a charm to it,” as Seymour says, because of obstacles beyond her control. Seymour has appeared in a number of films, including Live and Let Die, in which she co-starred with Roger Moore as a Bond girl, as well as Somewhere in Time, Smallville, and Wedding Crashers. The award-winning actress has been in several recent Acorn TV shows, including The Kominsky Method, B Positive, and the Irish mystery thriller Harry Wild.
The show stars & is co-executive produced by Seymour. Lando’s resume included roles in shows including The Secret Circle, Hit the Floor, One Life to Live, Guiding Light, & The Bold & the Beautiful. Most recently, he has been seen in A Very Charming Christmas Town and Friendsgiving. Movies starring Jodie Sweetin and Tim Rozon in Merry Swissmas and Naturi Naughton and Luke James in Kirk Franklin’s The Night Before Christmas round out Lifetime’s It’s a Wonderful Lifetime schedule. Lighthouse Pictures produces and Sony Pictures Television distributes “A Christmas Spark.” Eirene Tran Donohue penned the screenplay for the movie.
