The premiere date for the upcoming Apple TV+ film Raymond and Ray, starring Ewan McGregor and Ethan Hawke, has been set. On October 21, Apple TV+ will host the drama.
Raymond and Ray, played by Ewan McGregor and Ethan Hawke, respectively, are two brothers who use their grief over their father’s death as an opportunity to completely reinvent themselves and escape his ever-present looming shadow that they had lived under their entire lives. The film is written and directed by Rodrigo Garca (Albert Nobbs, In Treatment). Starring alongside McGregor and Hawke are Sophie Okonedo, who played Siuan Sanche in the Prime Video TV series adaptation of The Wheel of Time, and Gal Gadot, who appeared in Kenneth Branagh’s Death on the Nile alongside her earlier this year, and Maribel Verd, who will play Nora Allen in the upcoming The Flash DC movie.
In addition to the aforementioned actors, the cast also features Todd Louiso, Tom Bower, Oscar Nuez, and Vondie Curtis Hall, all of whom were previously revealed. Production on the movie began in Virginia in October of last year and finished in November. A little over a month after its world premiere at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival on September 12, the film will debut on Apple TV+ in October. Oscar-winning director Alfonso Cuarón (Gravity) is producing the film alongside Mockingbird Pictures’ Bonnie Curtis and Julie Lynn. Gabriela Rodriguez and Shea Kammer both play significant roles as executive producers. Apple Studios, Mockingbird Pictures, and Cuarón’s Esperanto Film Limited will be the producers. On October 21st, Raymond and Ray will make their way to Apple TV+.
