It’s hard to think that summer is winding down, but that means Halloween preparations can begin. It’s also the time of year when the biggest television networks and streaming services unveil their terrifying schedules. To that end, Discovery has recently unveiled the schedule for all of its Ghostober 2022 programming. On Monday, September 12 at 10 PM ET, Travel Channel and Discovery will present the formal kickoff of their Ghostober celebration with the Ghostober Preview Party. The Ghost Brothers will host a special Halloween party showcasing the event’s spooky roster, and guests including Jason Hawes (Ghost Hunters) and Cindy Kaza (Ghosts of Devil’s Perch) will make appearances.
New seasons of Paranormal Caught On Camera (September 11), Ghost Adventures (September 15), and Ghost Hunters (October 1) will premiere on Discovery+ and Travel Channel, respectively, and on October 7, three episodes from the upcoming season of Ghost Brothers: Lights Out will premiere on Discovery+. And on top of that, on September 29, the new Ghost Adventures special Devil’s Den will premiere on both Travel Channel and Discovery+, and on September 23 and October 2, respectively, the new paranormal series Haunted Scotland and Jack Osbourne’s Haunted Homecoming will premiere on Discovery+. The Curse of Robert the Doll and Ghost of Flight 401, two new episodes of Discovery’s famous Shock Doc series, will focus on supernatural phenomena.
The premiere dates for those specials are September 30 and October 28, respectively, on both Travel Channel and Discovery+. If you’d rather not deal with ghosts for Halloween but would still like something sweet, the Food Network has you covered with some delectable orange frosting. There will be premieres of the new seasons of the Halloween Baking Championship (September 12), Halloween Wars with Zak Bagans (September 18), and Outrageous Pumpkins (September 25). On September 26 and October 17, respectively, there will be the premieres of the new series Halloween Cookie Challenge and the special Kids Baking Championship: Trick or Eat.
These delectable new additions to Food Network and Discovery+ will air for the first time this year. If you’re looking for more terrifying content, Ghostober has much to offer. In particular, if you enjoy the films of Eli Roth. My Possessed Pet, a new film by Eli Roth, will have its world premiere on September 30. The show will examine the real-life fears of pet owners who fear their animals may be possessed by demonic forces. The anthology series Urban Legend, which premieres on October 28, is Roth’s reimagining of traditional ghost stories.
The frightening party will conclude on Halloween with the premiere of The Haunted Museum: 3 Ring Inferno. It’s about a stolen suitcase that may contain a tent that might create a doorway to a cursed circus in the third instalment of this anthology film series, produced by Zak Bagans in partnership with Roth. These new products and services are being introduced on both Travel Channel and Discovery+. While spooky films have always been associated with Halloween, channels like the Travel Channel, the Food Network, and, more recently, Discovery+ have emerged as some of the most popular venues for holiday celebrations in recent years. Especially if you aren’t normally a fan of horror or if you like your scares to be more “true tale” than supernatural.
Ghostober, a yearly event on Discovery, does a fantastic job of capturing the creepy yet amusing spirit of the Halloween season. With such a promising cast, they should maintain their spine-chilling pace into 2022. The spooky seasons of series like Ghost Hunters are now available to view on Discovery+, so you can get in the mood for Ghostober even before it officially begins on September 12.
