In the early chapters of One Piece, we met Dracule Mihawk, the “Strongest Swordsman in the World.” He was the first Warlord we’d seen. However, Dracula Mihawk’s other name, “Marine Hunter,” was revealed in Chapter 1058 of One Piece. Now that the Warlord system has been toppled, Sir Crocodile, leader of the Cross Guild, addresses him by that name when he approaches him with an offer to collaborate in fighting the World Government. Mihawk has a bounty of 3,590,000,000 Berries, putting him in a tie for sixth place with Shanks, who has a bounty of 4,048,900,000 Berries and is one of the top 5 greatest bounties ever disclosed in the One Piece series. Mihawk’s previous name, “Marie Hunter,” suggests that he used to hunt marines before being enlisted as one of the seven warlords of the seas. This demonstrates Dracula Mihawk’s formidable strength.
If Mihawk had remained a freebooting pirate, he undoubtedly would have been named an Emperor in his own right alongside Shanks by now. But Mihawk says he wants peace and quiet, and that Buggy’s status as “emperor” and “head of the organisation” is only useful as long as they can easily get rid of him. The bounty on Mihawk’s head that was mentioned in Chapter 1058 of One Piece might very well be the same bounty he had before he became a government warlord of the sea. If this is the case, then in the last epic of One Piece, Mihawk’s powers will be showcased as even more impressive than those seen in the Marineford Arc.
Is Mihawk’s bounty announcement acceptable to you? Could he, as the greatest swordsman in the world, single-handedly challenge Shanks? After tossing the Warlord Systems into the ocean, Mihawk’s Bounty was eventually revealed in One Piece Chapter 1058 under his old renowned moniker. After more than two decades since his initial debut in One Piece, we now have some new details on the series’ most formidable swordsman. The famous swordsman who vanquished Zoro with a pocketknife at the opening of One Piece was shrouded in mystery. Even the red-haired Shanks can’t match his prowess with a sword, and his bounty is in the top 10 of those that have been announced so yet.
