That settles it; that’s official. The 3rd season of One Punch Man is in the works. The One-Punch Man teams have returned after an absence of nearly three years. According to Crunchyroll, the official One-Punch Man TV anime website has announced that work on One Punch Man Season 3 has begun, and has also released a teaser image of Saitama and Garou, created by Chikashi Kubota, the series’ character designer for Seasons 1 and 2.
Developer ONE expressed his enthusiasm for the show on Tuesday. The webcomic’s author marked the premiere of a new season with a party, and they posted photos from the event last night. In the pictures, Saitama does his signature ONE style walk right through a wall.
In a tweet from last year, One Punch Man creator Yusuke Murata hinted at a possible delay in the release of Season 3 of the anime (OPM Season 3). “I appreciate everyone’s understanding. The latest chapter of One-Punch Man has been delayed in its online publication for a variety of reasons. Just give it a little more time, thanks.”
“I apologise for keeping you waiting. We are hard at work updating the newest chapter of One-Punch Man, which will be released on October 8 in the Tona Jean version you see above. As the new day approaches, we will provide an update.” One-Punch Man is a Japanese manga series by artist ONE about the superhero Saitama. He’s bored with the lack of challenge his overpowering might provides and wants to find an opponent worthy of facing him.
The story of One Punch Man Season 3 has not been officially announced, but a number of media outlets have speculated that, in addition to Saitama’s personal life, the tale would focus on the Heroes Association uniting against their monster counterparts and assaulting the HQ of the villains. In response, the Monsters Association challenges the S-Class heroes to a series of one-on-one duels. There have been rumours that the episodes of Season 3 would involve nonstop action.
The upcoming season of the manga will maintain its sense of comedy, at least outside of the battle sequences. Saitama vs. Garou promises to be a fascinating and asymmetrical battle. S-Class heroes like Atomic Samurai and Flashy Flash might square off against the Monsters Association in one-on-one duels. The first 23 volumes have been adapted for the first two seasons of the Japanese anime series, leaving just a small number of manga chapters to be converted.
The conflict between Saitama and the Garou, as hinted at in the remaining chapters, promises to provide a new dimension to the plot. There is presently no confirmation on any additional returning cast and crew members, nor the studio in charge, outside of Kubota’s involvement. Furthermore, there has been no word on when the third season of One-Punch Man will be available.
