On Tuesday, respected series leaker Redon provided the complete summary spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1058 via spoiler discussion sites. While earlier this week fans were given a few spoilers covering Chapter 1058’s broad strokes, the most recent summary spoilers provided a far more in-depth look at the problem. Following briefly touching on the events that occurred immediately after the Straw Hats’ departure from Wano, One Piece Chapter 1058 focuses mostly on the newly created Cross Guild. Many readers have expressed excitement about the introduction of One Piece Chapter 1058, citing their want to find out more about Buggy’s new crew.
Chapter 1058 of One Piece reveals who really is in charge of the Cross Guild, casting doubt on Buggy’s Yonko status.
The Captain is in Peril: The events of Chapter 1058 of One Piece take place in the Thousand Sunny, which by this time has most likely broken off contact with the Polar Tang and Victoria Punk. Luffy gets a dressing down from Nami for leaving Wano via the waterfall as they converse inside the Sunny. In the meantime, her captain is in a cage, his face marred in bruises and scars, and he is being presented as “One of the Four Emperors.”
He tries to make amends with her by apologising, but she is still furious, telling him that he has reached the limit of his idiocy. Jinbe tries to calm the situation by assuring everyone that it’s no big issue, but he gets a reprimand from Nami for spoiling Luffy. Jinbe is so taken aback by this revelation that she jokes about whether or not she actually has Conqueror’s Haki. Meanwhile, Chopper advises the new crew member to stay away from Nami when she’s upset. Franky is pleased that his ship sustained barely a yard of damage from the fall. Concurrently, a News Coo stops by and hands Robin a newspaper, informing the team that their bounties have been dropped. An delighted Sanji trips and knocks the posters out of her hand, sending them careening around the deck as she introduces them. Here are the current bounties:
“Monkey D. Luffy” (3,000,000,000 Beri)
Zoro Rorona (1,100,001,100 Beri)
Jinbe (1,100,000,000 Beri)
Vinsmoke Sanji (1,032,000,000 Beri) Asserting That It Was Nico And Robin (930,000,000 Beri) Usopp (500,000,000 Beri) Franky (394,000,000 Beri) Brook (383,000,000 Beri) Nami (366,000,000 Beri) Chopper (1,000 Beri)
Usopp’s dismay at the price hike, Chopper’s anger at being labelled the ship pet even after all this time, and Franky’s dismay at seeing his likeness on Sunny’s figurehead are all noteworthy responses. Zoro teases Sanji about being the fourth highest bounty on the team now that Jinbe has joined and been promoted, and Sanji complains about being rated behind both Jinbe and Zoro. One Piece Chapter 1058 swaps viewpoints as Zoro and Sanji resume their combat as the Sunny continues on its uncharted route.
The Cross Guild, You!
The action of Chapter 1058 of One Piece moves to Karai Bari, the island that appears to be the present base of operations for the Cross Guild. Coworkers at the organisation are impressed by Buggy, the group’s chairman because he managed to bring in A-listers like Crocodile and Mihawk. Contrary to what these subordinates are writing, events within the adjoining big top depict a quite different picture. Buggy is introduced as “One of the Four Emperors” in One Piece Chapter 1058 when he is shown pleading for his life and begs the narrator for mercy. He, like his fellow Yonko member Luffy, is depicted with a number of facial injuries, including a broken tooth or two, and a number of bruises and wounds on his skull. Crocodile sits on the neighbouring Chairman’s couch, holding Buggy’s severed head, while Mihawk stands over Buggy’s body, brandishing a sword. The alleged Yonko begs for forgiveness and promises to do whatever to make up, while Crocodile wonders aloud why Buggy is officially the Chairman when he and Mihawk are the ones who formed the guild.
Mihawk claims that Buggy should give up his life to become a Yonko in exchange for an apology and that he is the first and only person to do so. Then, when Buggy pleads for his life once again, Crocodile exclaims that he is beyond ashamed, to which Mihawk replies that Buggy’s death is final and cannot be negotiated. Galdino then extends his congratulations to Crocodile, saying it’s a pleasure to work with him once again. An angry Buggy scolds his erstwhile buddy, who insists that he was never the now-subordinate Yonko’s and that he has never beentray him. Apparently, Mohji, Cabaji, and Alvida are close by, and they’ve all decided to join Crocodile now that Buggy’s dead. Once the Marines had surrounded Kuraigana Island (Mihawk’s previous base), the action in Chapter 1058 of One Piece shifts to a flashback. As Mihawk was packing up, Crocodile phoned him through Den Den Mushi and suggested they team up now that the Shichibukai system has been dismantled.
Crocodile agrees that this is not a terrible bargain, suggesting that together they might establish a group so powerful that the Marines would have to be wary of them. In this exchange, Mihawk’s former nickname of “Marine Hunter” is revealed, and the talk concludes with Crocodile noting that Mihawk and he have a similar reluctance to trust others. The events of Chapter 1058 transport readers back in time to Karai Bari, where Buggy was making preparations for his escape as the Marines approached. During this time, subordinate reports that Crocodile and Daz Bones are attacking the naval vessels guarding the island. In a hilarious turn of events, his minions began explaining that Buggy really is like Crocodile’s older brother and that’s why he’s the one protecting them now. Buggy agrees with this evaluation, but he is terrified by his predicament since he knows the reality is extremely different. Buggy knows that Crocodile is coming to collect on his enormous debts, but he has nothing to give him and compares Crocodile to the Marines. When they finally cross paths, he expresses his surprise that Buggy didn’t take off immediately, and Buggy tries to explain away his debt by claiming that he has a large staff to feed and that some of his top Giants have just resigned.
If he can’t produce enough money, Crocodile suggests they sell themselves, prompting Buggy to make light of the situation while also referencing their common past. Instead, Crocodile retorts that Buggy should pay him back the money he loaned for that relationship, claiming that he would have to handle the situation personally since he needs the money for a new business. Apparently viewing this as an opportunity, Buggy suggests that Crocodile join him and work for him. Buggy assures Crocodile that he has everything the latter needs to get his business up and running quickly, and that Crocodile may utilise these services at no cost and will even pay off his debt via labour. The focus of One Piece Chapter 1058 returns to their present-day encounter with Mihawk.
Lots of money can be made beneath the big top
In the current day of One Piece Chapter 1058, Crocodile is furious with Buggy for holding up the Cross Guild poster and is staring at him from inside the big top. He jokes that Buggy appears like a powerful figure on the billboard and calls him “Mr Chairman,” implying that this is the poster Buggy decided to use to announce their collaboration to the world.
Buggy says it was all a misunderstanding and that his employees are to blame for taking the blame for what he really meant. In One Piece Chapter 1058, we get another quick flashback to when the posters were created, and he asserts that they have a lot of respect for him. Astonishingly to Buggy, his subordinates apparently sent them everywhere in the world in an effort to make him appear the most hip of the three present. Spoilers don’t say for sure, but it appears like the flashback in One Piece Chapter 1058 ends here and we return to the present-day Navy Headquarters. As the situation with Buggy escalates, Commodore Brannew calls an urgent meeting.
He claims the newest Yonko is not just a Roger Pirate and a rival to Shanks, but also the brains behind Impel Down. When the Shichibukai were abolished, Brannew says, Buggy was able to recruit Crocodile thanks to his magnetic personality. He continues by saying that through eavesdropping on the pair, they were able to ascertain that Mihawk and Crocodile are really related. According to him, the Cross Guild is a serious threat because the “Marine Hunting” campaign has attracted many violent underworld people. Brannew then details the rewards for these three pirates, starting with Sir Crocodile’s whopping 1,965,000,000 Beri. Then, he names Mihawk, calling him “the best swordsman in the world, exceeding even Shanks in ability,” and dropping a whopping 3,590,000,000 Beri reward on his head. Meanwhile, it’s revealed that despite being a Yonko, Buggy has a bounty of 3,189,000,000 Beri.
As One Piece Chapter 1058 returns to Karai Bari island, Brannew casually brings up Luffy, adding that he is likewise considered dangerous and someone to watch out for. When Buggy continues to beg for his life, Crocodile declares he’s had enough of talking and kills him. However, Mihawk argues that crediting him entirely would not be a terrible idea.
He continues, saying he has no interest in adopting the Yonko lifestyle and that all he wants is a quiet place to call home. Mihawk confirms Crocodile’s suspicions that he is, in fact, dead serious, and then explains that the two can have all the spotlight for themselves thanks to Buggy while they do anything they want behind the scenes. Crocodile agrees with Buggy and chooses to spare him as the three of them exit the building. In a public announcement made from a balcony with his two business partners, Buggy states that the Cross Guild was founded in anticipation of the future. Then, to the cheers of the Guild’s underlings, he reveals Crocodile and Mihawk, the Guild’s commanders.
His employees attribute Buggy’s sobs to the joy he’s experiencing at the present, but he’s actually terrified of the future. The final few pages of One Piece Chapter 1058 take place in the Kamabakka Queendom on Momoiro Island. All except Sabo of the Revolutionary Army’s top brass have returned from Mariejois safely. Those who have returned, however, assure Koala that he is well, with Karasu adding that he trusts Sabo over Cobra’s murder although the two men had previously disagreed. Koala then speaks to Dragon, who tells him he would never forgive Sabo for killing King Cobra under any circumstances. Standing before Kuma, he asks his old buddy what he observed, and Kuma’s answer, delivered in a slave-like fashion, shows that he still maintains similar habits and outlooks. There’s a sudden ringing from a Den Den Mushi, and Marine Headquarters picks up because they think it may be Sabo. They wait until Koala picks up the Den Den Mushi, at which point they begin recording the discussion and learn that Sabo is on the other end. Unfortunately, the resolution of Sabo’s situation is left unexplored in One Piece Chapter 1058, and a series of hiatus is announced for the following week.
Final Thoughts, Ch. 1058, One Piece
Considering how much time & effort are spent in this chapter building up both short-term and long-term issues for the series, One Piece Chapter 1058 still manages to be a rather thrilling read. The reappearance of Sabo is also appreciated, but fans will have to wait until at least the end of the break week to learn more about his location, condition, and possible involvement in the death of Cobra. Chapter 1058 of One Piece does a great job of focusing on the Cross Guild, providing readers with much of all they need to know about the organisation. It is unclear what Crocodile and Mihawk hope to accomplish globally, but they will likely become more visible as time goes on. After several chapters of only Luffy’s bounty being disclosed, fans were glad to see the rest of the Straw Hat crew’s bounties in this issue. The decision to expose the Cross Guild executive’s bounty in One Piece Chapter 1058 was also very well received, making this an exemplary information dump chapter that still manages to excite and interest readers.
