Creepers, Brennan Keel Cook and Cat Shank Casted, Release Date, Cast & Synopsis Details

Deadline reports that additional cast members will be joining the Suretone Pictures-Lionsgate horror picture Creepers only days after it was announced that Shane Paul McGhie will be replacing Skylan Brooks. In addition to returning cast members like Brennan Keel Cook and newcomers like Cat Shank, production has recently begun in Bulgaria.
Cook will be joining the cast as Mack, one of the Scavengers that fight against the Creepers in the film. In contrast, Shank will portray Beth, a photographer who gets caught in the crossfire between Creepers and Scavengers as they all converge on the rundown Paragon Hotel, said to be hiding a priceless treasure.

Though Cook has starred in multiple TV shows including Snowfall, Fear the Walking Dead, Baskets, The Rookie, How to Be a Vampire, and The Grinder, this will be Shank’s first film appearance. His next project is Scott Cooper’s The Pale Blue Eye, a Netflix original film starring Christian Bale, Lucy Noynton, and Gillian Anderson. The film Creepers is based on David Morrell’s best-selling novel of the same name, published in 2005. Writer of the 1972 film First Blood, which inspired the Rambo series starring Sylvester Stallone, Morrell has become a household name. In the film, a band of adventurers will break into a rundown, abandoned hotel to learn more about its mysterious past.

Despite their initial assumption that the building was deserted, they quickly discover that two rival groups of urban explorers are also searching for a famous hidden treasure inside and that a ghostly presence is tormenting everyone. The screenplay for the movie was written by Stephen Susco (The Grudge). With Creepers, acclaimed music video and commercial filmmaker, Marc Klasfeld will make his directorial debut with a full picture. Kasfeld has collaborated with a wide range of well-known musicians in the past, including Katy Perry, Slipknot, Jay-Z, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Britney Spears, and Twenty-One Pilots. In addition to the previously announced Shane Paul McGhie (Unbelievable), Jake Manley (Midway, Holidate), Adeline Rudolph (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina), Laurence O’Faurain (Game of Thrones, Vikings), Nicholas Hamilton (It), Javier Botet (It), and Kai Caster (It), Cook and Shank will also be joining the cast (American Horror Story).

Suretone Pictures’ CEO & Chairman Jordan Schur also acts as the film’s producer, while the studio itself, together with Lionsgate, provided joint finance. There is no set release date for Creepers, which is presently filming in Bulgaria.
