In the wee hours of Tuesday morning, spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1058 began to circulate, revealing some shocking information. Allegedly revealed in the next issue is the actual leader of the Cross Guild, the bounties of its most crucial members, and the new bounties for the Straw Hats. The final point, though, has already sparked heated discussion among readers on social media in advance of the issue’s publication. Many people believe that One Piece Chapter 1058 introduces a new Monster Trio based on the bounty, with the expulsion of one of the original members. In this post, we’ll explain in detail how some readers of One Piece believe Sanji will be expelled from the Monster Trio once he brings in his latest bounty.
Latest Spoilers for Chapter 1058
As far as we can tell from the existing spoilers, One Piece Chapter 1058 will introduce new bounties for the Straw Hats, which is sure to incite a conflict between the fanbase. The latest Straw Hat bounty, on which some fans have already declared war, is as follows.
Zoro: 1,101,000,000 To the nearest one billion (in BeriJinbe notation) Beri Sanji: 1,032,000,000 930,000,000 for BeriRobin 500,000,000 is how much BeriUsopp says they have. Three Hundred and Ninety-Four Million in BeriFranky Three hundred and eighty-three million for BeriBrook. Three Hundred and Sixty-Six Million for BeriNaMi One Thousand Beri: A BeriChopper
The top three bounties, belonging to Zoro, Jinbe, and Sanji, in terms of value, are of considerable interest to many fans. The bounty on Monkey D. Luffy, leader of the crew, is three times as large as the next two combined. Sanji’s current bounty, the fourth highest aboard the ship, is cause for special worry. Fans continue to interpret the most recent bounty totals as a measure of power, despite author and artist Eiichiro Oda’s repeated disclaimers to the contrary. In light of this, some readers are asserting that Sanji has abandoned the Monster Trio even though no new chapter has been published. Traditionally, the three strongest members of the Straw Hat crew—Luffy, Zoro, and Sanji—made up the Monster Trio. The fact that Jinbe has joined the crew recently and has a larger bounty than Sanji’s has led many supporters to argue that Sanji should be kicked out.
Thus, Jinbe, who has the third-highest reward in the crew, would replace him to become the third member of the Monster Trio with Luffy and Zoro. Naturally, Sanji’s supporters aren’t pleased, and they’re pointing the finger at Luffy, saying he quit the Monster Trio because he’s so much stronger than the others. After Gear Fifth and Luffy’s Awakening of his genuine Devil Fruit abilities, this is an understandable line of thinking. Fans of Jinbe and Zoro, however, appear to be staunchly resisting this assertion, insisting that Luffy is still a member of the Monster Trio even if he is more monstrous than the others. Note that the Monster Trio moniker is a fan-created one for the most powerful members of the Straw Hat crew and has no official status whatsoever. Monster Trio is not a term that has ever been used to describe any member of the crew prior to One Piece Chapter 1058.
On the other hand, this opens the door for fans to claim that anybody they choose should make up their Monster Trio. Certainly, it’s a fascinating predicament to be in. While Sanji’s combat against Queen was certainly aided by the Ifrit Jambe and the activation of his exoskeleton, the reduced bounty is calling into question any claims to superiority. However, he is a founding member of the Monster Trio, as well as an original East Blue Straw Hat. And then there’s Jinbe, whose bounty seems to have been significantly raised less for his real power than for his fame and reputation. The fact that he has been on Fisher Tiger’s crew, led his own crew, been a Shichibukai, and been a member of two different Yonko crews is a tremendous addition to his rap sheet (the Big Mom and Straw Hat Pirates).
Spoilers for One Piece Chapter 1058 have sparked an interesting discussion, and they’re also making us examine the shortcomings of the reward system. Reactions to One Piece Chapter 1058 spoilers suggest that the bounty system will be used as a means of power scaling, despite Oda’s wishes to the contrary.
